C24 data is inadmissable, because it's all fake listings, or so I'm told.

If you’re thinking of the same listing that’s how much it was originally listed for but it sold for 20.8k or at least that’s what the post says…who knows what the final price was.

Well when I first started purchasing watches from them in 18 I did experience some of that. But in the past year I haven’t and the few vintage watches I sold on C24 they’ve required two pictures of the watch set at two different times that they choose and at every renewal interval you have to send in new pictures of the watch set at their required times.

Many of the listings on C24 only reflect a dealer’s willingness to source the model to facilitate a transaction. As a result, the number of listings likely exceeds the inventory.

I purchased 2 watches (non Rolex) on Chrono24 and the experience was positive and the prices were excellent. Both different transactions were from very established brick/mortar jewelry stores. I haggled a little to get a feel for where their prices were and got a bit of a discount but nothing that great as the prices were already on the low side of everyone else.

Useful info, thanks. I bought an old IWC Mk XII from C24 (brick & mortar dealer in NL) in 2019, but never sold anything there.

Tier 1A seller who lists at prices that seems to often fall in right in line where private sellers on TRF are at after a bump or two and is not as reliant on new model flipping

yeah he always seemed to be good at just asking a reasonable price out of the gate and he seems to turnover inventory well. I also like that he doesn't polish by default - David SW polishes everything to look great, but i'd rather spread polishing out over 15 year cycles

It's funny to see the watch youtubers. The only channels talking about the drop / the crash are the ones that don't have inventory.

All of the heavy rolex/patek/ap dealer channels are acting like it's business as usual.

I watched a nico leonard video this morning and the poor guy looks visibly very stressed but no mention of the current market.

I watched him a couple of times, but hadn't for a long time. Someone here thought his latest video was pretty insightful, so I watched it. He basically said, "Prices could go lower. They could go higher." I don't personally need to spend time watching videos was that kind of insight.

Perhaps some of his others are better. He used to say every watch was a heavy hitter, blah blah blah.

I've never seen anything like this before on TRF.

Some people on this forum seem to think it's great news that some other people are losing large amounts of money, because it means the forumites here might be able to buy cheaper jewellery for themselves in the future. They are actively hoping for a big recession in at least one post I saw on the PP subforum.

What hope is there for humanity?

While I think it’s distasteful to wish ill on anyone….especially when people COULD lose their entire life savings or homes over this, I can understand some peoples ‘satisfaction’ about the situation, given that possibly the same people now losing big time have driven prices sky high so that the normal watch enthusiast can’t compete…

It was the same in the last financial crisis in the U.K. when landlords who owned multiple properties lost big time…..the same people ramping up house prices so people couldn’t even get one.

How did you conclude that? Because 2 emojis? Just because I find it amusing that this scam named crypto has taken a dip and that there is a correction in the watch market (which was getting out of control) doesn’t mean Anything of what you said. People make choices and if you don’t understand shit in crypto and buy it or decide to pay X5 over retail for a watch because it’s an “investment” or out of FOMO then you also gotta calculate the risks. If you’re dumb enough to gamble all your savings on something like crypto, then don’t go crying to the newspaper when it crashes. I am doing fine and I buy whatever I want or need for retail or I don’t buy it at all. My choice. So don’t worry about me.

You’re making a lot of assumptions for a dude on TRF. Chill, breath and sit down. You don’t know me so please don’t put words in my mouth. have a good day
