Fun thread!
My DJ 16014 from 1983 is in for a "grand service" but if it was available, this is what I'd wear.

Going to see the movie is one hour!

(will wear my 300m on the Omega Commander Nato; close enough for me :)

I flew 30+hour combat missions in the B2 stealth bomber crewed with Paul Tibbets IV who woree a Rolex GMT. Grandpa Tibbets of Enola Gay fame had given to him when he graduated from the AF Academy. So, I stick with Rolex GMT. Good enough for a history making pilot, good enough for me and Maverick.

I was thinking maybe the TT blue Sub aka Bluesy. Although it's not a pilot's watch, it has that 80s vibe about it . The first 16613lb was in fact released in 1984, only three years before Top Gun.

What do you guys think? What would you wear?
IWC dude!!

Best Rolex to watch Top Gun Maverick?

I’m taking a different route.

Seiko Sports 100.

Why?

I wore this watch when I saw “Top Gun” in 1986.

I haven’t aged as well as Mr. Cruise…but my watch has! Of course, like certain film stars, its “had some work done”:

New battery. And, the metal bracelet gave way to a strap inspired by the nylon strap on Bond’s watch in “Goldfinger” and “Thunderball”…

My 15 year old daughter watched “Top Gun” today for the first time. Loved it. She’s looking forward to “Maverick”. Hey, maybe I’ll get her to wear my Seiko. I’ll wear my dad’s old Moonwatch, which he wore to see the original film with me in 1986…circle of life and all that.

Pass the popcorn.

Watched it last night, loved it. I was just wearing the watch I've been wearing all week. A Daytona on oyster flex.

Although I did clock the orfina Chrono, the IWC pocket watch Chronograph, some sort of 5 digit sub/gmt on another pilot and what looked like a. Rolex OP on penny Benjamin.

Watched it yesterday; wasn't wearing a Rolex however. Perhaps I need to see it again. As they say in motor sports, run what you brung.
