Air-King 116900 vs 126900: all of the differences
If anyone knows of other differences, I’d love to hear them.
-$7,150 vs $7,400 (usd) -the previous case was rounded/bulbous, while the new case is the same style as the Explorer II, i.e., slab sided -thickness: 13.1 mm vs 11.6 mm. The previous version had a Faraday cage for anti-magnetism, which required a thicker case -lug to lug: 47 mm to 46 mm (another source says 48 mm vs 47 mm) -lug width: 20 mm vs 21 mm -no crown guards vs crown guards -caliber: 3131 vs 3230 -48 hrs power reserve to 70 hrs -the new version has a bigger crown -on the previous version if you turn the crown clockwise the hands move clockwise; the new version is the opposite, i.e., the hands move counter clockwise -Oysterclasp vs Oysterlock folding clasp -the previous clasp had a stamped logo, while the new clasp has an applied logo -the new dial is slightly bigger, 0.8 mm I’ve heard, with the bezel shrinking that amount -the 3-6-9 numerals are lumed in the new version -with a slightly larger dial the new version has longer hands -the new hour hand is subtly redesigned with the top triangle being elongated Did I miss anything? Oh right, the 5 is now 05. |

Waiting for the call for the 126900.
The second and hour hand are slightly longer on the 126900. |

The older model had the Milgauss movement including the full antimagnetic faraday cage as I understood it. That's why the case was thicker. The new one isn't as robust in that respect. I've got a Milgauss and prefer the new design. The new one is more in line with an OP. The old one was a bargain basement Milgauss!!! I'm waiting on the call for the new one as well.

Is there a specific quantum of reduction (in % terms) of the anti-magnetic properties of the new air king?

The movement 3230 is anti-magnetic due to material used so new air king no longer needs the iron shield

The current Milgauss has been tested to 60,000 gauss so it's quite a bit above its name. The new movement can't perform to the same level by design. There's no data shown anywhere for the 3230, only claims of improvement. It also has the problems that have intermittently bother it (as opposed to the older movement). I can't find any data on the 3230 magnetic resistance. Here's a rough comparison between the MG and Omega.
