How can I tell if lume is original (Tudor sub, photos included)
Hi all.
I'm looking to possibly buy this Tudor 75090 and unsure if the lume is original. It seems to be evenly yellowed, but I'm unsure if it's re-done or naturally aged. Also some other photos of the watch in case anyone has other thoughts or potentially sees any red flags, I'd be greatly appreciative of your input. |

Haven't really seen the smaller tudor submariners with fake dials yet. Some of the 79190 / 76100 dials do have that even luminous material - sometimes even with a glossy look to it vs. matte lume. Its likely original dial.
FWIW, this is the smaller boys size, not the larger mens version - assume you know that already. |

Lacking photos that actually focus on the lume plots themselves, it looks legit to me - as mentioned above this is the smaller case.

You should always ask for photos of the dial/hands under UV. It can give you clues about whether the lume is original or not.

The watch looks very honest. Wear is consistent thoughout and as mentionned higher up, these dials are not faked due to the small demand for 36mm Tudor diver's.

This watch would be for my girlfriend, and what I love about it is that it's in seemingly great shape and has the oyster bracelet, unlike the majority of other 75***'s that have what I think is one of the ugliest jubilee bracelets Tudor has ever made, unfortunately. One thing I'm noticing looking at the photos is what seems to be scratches/heavy roughness to the metal seen around the seal in the photo where the caseback is removed. Do those look to be gouges in the metal to you? I'll see if I can get better photos of that too. |

That looks to be a combination of DNA and needing a cleaning, otherwise it is pretty clean.
IMO the lume is probably fine, those years it was a glob that looked more like a button on a 70's couch ; ) - but again, photos.

It is likely original Tritium and in intact condition. I call this type of lume “tooth paste” :). If you look closer the Tritium material is thick and evenly applied.
Very nice one indeed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
