Nice Daren. I like the 88. I remember your other one. I think you had it when I first joined up.

Congrats ( again LOL)
NOW, you must inform me BEFORE you trade/sell the 000 ( Base Logo) as that is one I would be interested in. Might even arrange to come down to pick it up

Hi Daren!
How is your baby doing? I think might be 14-16 months already, right? (my baby girl is already walking and messing around) Anyway, congrats on your new 88! I got exactly one 2-months ago (my 1st pannie) and was wondering where I could get extra quality straps...I thought about a kevlar one as well...What do you think? Confortable? Let me know what you can advise me about material types etc... ( I have only those 2 original straps that comes with the watch Thank you! |

RTO, for good quality straps, there are plenty of manufacturers outside of OEM. The tan strap Daren has the 88 on is a Greg Stevens Crazy Horse. Greg is a good guy and hand makes straps of outstanding quality. I just got a similar type strap, a Gabomagic which I would highly recommend if you want a tan distressed strap that will 'tan' with age (like Vuitton luggage leather). Greg is taking a break from strap making but he's taking orders for when he restarts. I can give you his email if you like. Gabomagic regularly posts in the accessory section of www.paneristi.com. Other sellers of good quality are HKTan, StrapCulture, Mario Paci, Time Connection, BOB... PM me and I can give you links. |

Thanks Amanda, it seems to be hogging the wrist time from the other Pannies too.

Also, if an 88 or an 89 has a bit of aging on the hands, what is that mainly due to? I would not think that a 3 yr old watch should wear that badly normally.

I had some problems with hands on the other 88 I owned, they were exposed to humid air during a service and had to be replaced.

The hands are SS and the material is luminova not tritium so there is not wear coming from it. I hope you don't have a problem pal.

I noticed an 89 for a good price, but was a bit turned off when I noticed the hands. The price wasn't that good Besides, I've settled on a 112 for the next purchase (I think... ) But I've had to furnish a fair whack of a new apartment, so a new bed took priority over the pannie

People can say whatever they want, but it is the BASIS for everysingle watch. All watches are just a BASE with added "stuff".
