Theft from Rolex boutique, Athens, GR

In the middle of the day, in Athens, Greece.

https://greekcitytimes.com/2022/12/2...atches-hammer/

Thieves got away with 23 watches (surprisingly many watches in stock!) worth about 200K euro.

And they left behind a hammer...

It's not enough supply is short, we also have these @ssholes swiping it all.

Obviously most or some of the watches were exhibition models. Would that impact their value and make the idiot criminals regret their robbery of the store?

Hopefully they were the non-working models.

Those would have been perfect future prospect CPO watches, well not anymore.

Real watches, but without Box & Papers.

There's no such thing - just as there are no "'waiting lists."

It is being said on the media that these were all "pre-ordered" and their recipients are rumored to have paid roughly half (or less than) the list price. Timing is also in line with the "shopping theory". Robbers were just executing a contract. These watches are not ending up in pawn shops or the 2ndary market, not directly at least, nor any time soon. There is also said to be a "Northbound" and a "Southbound" corridor through which they travel to former eastern block and middle east respectively. Further developments are expected. I think they've caught the robber who raided the other store a year or so ago.

PS: I think 200K for the stolen merchandise would be very conservative in retail prices, judging of the displays broken (single ones usually reserved for PM models).

None. They simply order and others fetch.

I purchased my first Rolex {Submariner date} from that very shop back in 2004. The good old days of seeing one in the window. Sadly sold it 2 years later to buy a Ducati. Brought back memories.
