Awesome. Many years older since my screen name. Hike now. I remember the felling of being totally centered. Enjoy my friend.

That too was a concern.

I agree that it is no drama watch.

Great story OP and congrats. What was the one watch you were down to after you sold the 114060?

And this is exactly why I can't sell any of my watches!
I'm sure I'll immediately regret and be forced to repurchase!

Congratulations, I hope you enjoy your 114060 as much as I do mine.
Only yesterday I tried on a 120460 at my AD, and whilst it is a very impressive piece, I plan on staying with my 11.
I haven’t sold and re purchased, but I can understand the dilemma.

Definitely been there. With that same reference, by the way.

Congrats on being reunited with a watch you love. Enjoy it!

Actually, the "sold and re-purchased reference" story is a very common theme here, at least over the long-haul.

Congratulations!

I’m a big generational guy. So:

16570 —— 216570
114270 —- 214270 —- 124270
16610lv — 216610lv

Nice story and congratulations again.

Question for you:.
You mentioned that you liked the 12 series, and objectively it wears and is balanced better, but subjectively you preferred the larger lugs and thinner bracelet of the 11 series. So what would you have done if the 124060 came in before the 114060?
Hopefully I haven't made your brain spin again.

I hope I would have waited. I was also getting ready to call the trusted sellers on this forum.

I guess lesson learned and this one is not leaving the house anymore.

But with a post count above 5000, i wonder how it happened in the first place :-)

Congratulations and wear it in good health.
Had the 114060, traded it for a 126660 which after a year or so just became too thick for my liking. I highly regretted selling the 114060 and was waiting for my AD to get me the 124060. I waited way too long for my AD to come through, so I went through a treated seller here on TRF with the purchase of the 124060 and couldn't be happier to own the Sub again.

Congratulations.

The modern Submariner is the best watch ever. Doesn't matter if it's a 114060 or a 124060.

Congratulations.

I love mine as well. While it does not get enough wrist time (the BLRO does), I will not part with my 114060.

How does one read a Timegraph? Do you have links to the primer? I also do not know.

best only watch out there - subjective, but I agree aesthetically better than 124060

I have, once in a while, toyed with the idea of selling my 114060 since it's a pretty standard watch- and us enthusiasts often want to stand out a little from the general crowd.

Being ubiquitous, copied over and over, and generic may be its weaknesses, but those same attributes are resulting from its strengths - being an icon, having timeless design, remaining consistent through decades.

I often hear we should never sell a sub because we'll always want it back in the collection eventually - so that's often what keeps me from selling despite the significant premium it's tacked on since I bought it.
