Why no lume on bezel?

Why is the only bezel lume found on the arrow and not the numbers and tick marks?

You probably the same issue as me. lol. I bought a used one here and only the hands glow opposed to the markers. What happened was whenever it was serviced, they changed out the hands but not the dial. It's not such a big deal to me, though. I was just curious.

Just a guess, but you after you set the bezel at the appropriate point, you use the markers on the dial to estimate the amount of elapsed time.

A couple of luminous markers on the bezel would be a great idea.

I may be way off but...wouldn't the lume rub off if it was on the bezel?

I read that the new version of the IWC Aquatimer will have "back-lit" luminous numbers on the bezel.
