Mar 1 Price Increase
Just checked the site and saw the Royal Oaks increasing by about $1200-$1300 for 37mm and 41mm steel respectively. So about 4%ish? Haven’t checked the others.

I wonder whats the reason for such an aggressive price increase over the past couple of years. I was lucky enough to be allocated a couple of pieces last year and Ive put my name down for a couple of other pieces. But with the way it's heading and increasing, It's starting to become out of reach :(

Seems like there’s been a small price decrease on some pieces here in the UK, along with the price increase on other models.

Price increases even though the steel Codes aren’t even in boutiques though?
This is what I don’t understand about AP unfortunately. But QP price appears the same in US, fwiw. |

Increases are mainly on the steel RO, ROC and Offshores.
The only Code that I noticed with price increase is the QP by about 7% in my part of the world. Now a QP Code is the same price as QP RO SS. New steel Codes haven't gone up. |

As an example of the last new AP I bought.
https://www.audemarspiguet.com/com/e...1320ST.07.html Now is £32,100 and I paid £30,600 in October '22. But as posted a few watches have also been reduced too. For example; https://www.audemarspiguet.com/com/e...D404CR.02.html Was £45,200 and now is £44,600 And some haven't changed in price at all. |

Code QP is the only one that jumped out at me, equalized with steel RO QP. It was $94.6 last summer, but I don't recall where it was last week.
Looks like steel jumbo went from $34.9 to $35.0? |

Well my property insurance is up about 70% across the board so...this seems like a welcome relief or just ho-hum new inflation normal for now. No 20k double PQ repricing shenanigans this time.
Didn't dodge the Jan 1 bullet after all, but it does seem to track along what one of the execs had told me about their target price was roughly 10% above market 'equilibrium', so pieces that still have room they raise, and pieces that are already there they stopped the raise. |

Don’t think many of the offshores are worth MSRP… though very nice

Overall less bad than I feared. I think one of the watches on our wishlist went down a bit, one went up - a wash overall. Also seems that there was some compensation for exchange rate fluctuations.
Interesting question is if there will be one or two more increases this year...

Does it suck? Yes. Are they smaller increases then many items we buy everyday over the last year? Yes.
Inflation is becoming more and more painful for everyone. |

I don't get it frankly - my RO is now literally $4k more expensive and I bought it at the beginning of 2022...?!? Why the need to increase prices 3x a yer by a few percentage points? Stick to 1 adjustment per year (or 18 months) and be done with it.
Starting to become a bit gougy, especially since by the time you blink it's gone up yet again... Dont come with the inflation argument either, I get it from a retail or food perspective, but we're talking luxury trinkets with relatively minimal raw material costs. |

I love the products but I dont know if I love the strategy. No company is going to say no to more money. But should companies be more "responsible" to the society? I guess their society is a tiny portion of the overall society.
In contrast this makes me feel brands like Omega are more responsible and sensitive to the economy. They increased prices too, but way less frequent than the true luxury brands. |
