Turned Down a DJ41
My AD texted me that they had a 126334 mint green for me if I wanted it on Monday. Two months ago, I’d have snatched it up. Now that Rolex introduced the 336934 mint green (1st on the list for this), I want to wait. I can tell my rep at the AD isn’t pleased with me…. Tough. I’ll get what I want, even the hard way-if necessary…

I think waiting for what you want is always best.

I feel like Datejust is one of the easier watches to get. You can also see the smaller mark-up on the grey market as well - seems to be many for sale here with little to no movement (should shift the grey market prices down even more).
Smart move to wait! |

Buy what you want, not what some bozo wants to sell you.

Yeah I had a similar interaction a few weeks back. Wasn’t the right watch for me either. Could be a situation to what I’ve been told that happens with S A’s. Basically if the S A gets turned down from customer 1 they dont get to offer it to person number 2 on their personal list and it goes to S A number 2. So he lost a sale that he could have definitely made, with the right amount of calls. I think some S A’s believe we are to drop to our knees in gratitude every single time when in reality regardless of the model we are mostly spending a minimum of 10k. Hell mine was a PM model. So not 10k But this is also why I have 2 A D’s with 2 different S A’s.

Both very nice, but very different price bracket and very different watches too.

You're entitled to change your mind. However, I would have turned up at the AD, tried the watch on and declined based on a valid reason, like your impression on the wrist not meeting expectation. Like you find it too small and would rather be considered for the larger Sky-D, for example.

Just depends on your history and how your AD decides to treat you.
Whether or not you want to wait, it doesn't matter. Quote:

OP never stated if they had requested the DJ41 only that the AD called and offered them one.
