Pepsi production reducing

I'm sorry that this is one of those 'my AD' said thread but I had an interesting conversation at my AD yesterday. I have a very good relationship with the SA and we have talked previously about the various versions of the ceramic pepsi colours - Mark I, ii, iii and the new Kermit ceramic colour etx. Unprompted by me she told me that Rolex have told them that there will be reduced production for the Pepsi and it will be a new slight change to the colour (blue). She was clear that this was fact, not rumour, having been informed by Rolex to expect less of this reference. I'm not sure if that is to do with the failure rate, difficulty of colour accurate production or just a desire to reduce availability or prioritise the other GMT models.

I mention this because I have read similar things on this forum but this was information without asking. I think it's interesting but time will tell. I suspect Rolex want to firmly establish the Pepsi alongside the Daytona as one of the the most sought after pieces.

Maybe it's true maybe it's not.
One thing's for sure though, Rolex wouldn't have told your AD their strategy.

I disagree with this. Some managers of ADs have worked with Rolex for decades and have a good, friendly personal relationships with senior management positions. They do get told things.

Think you have to take this with a pinch of salt, I'm also in the UK and I n=know a London based AD that has had an abundance of 2023 BLROs in, 3 alone last week, C24 also flooded with 2023 Pepsi models, I highly doubt this is the case I'm seeing more than ever

Agree that you always have to take conversations with ADs with a pinch of salt and you are absolutely right there are plenty on the market. The conversation I had was about future production. Most of the 2023 watches will have been produced in the last batch.

Rolex is probably the most secretive company in the world.
They never disclose anything about strategy, production numbers or revenue’s.
i always find it funny that most of AD’s claim to know it all

Is the blue the same on BLNRs and why aren't those affected by this supposed issue Rolex has with the colour?

No one would know this and if they say they know “things” then they are blowing smoke to bolster their status with the customer. AD’s are low level foot soldiers that are easily disposable to the Rolex brand and why they are never told anything.
The only thing we know as a “fact” is Rolex doesn’t disclose anything and has established this ultimate secrecy as a policy they protect at all cost.

I’m in the States and I shared this rumor with the 2 Boutique managers I work with. These are the people who regularly have conversations with the Rolex rep.

Both of them said they haven’t heard such a thing. Pepsi bezel is used in 3 different models… WG Meteorite, WG Blue, Steel Pepsi. There is no change in the allocation and/or delivery strategy of these models.

Rolex will never share such information with their reps, let alone AD’s and their foot soldier SA’s who have no clue about these things.

So maybe this was a “gentle” way of the SA saying don’t ask for the Pepsi?

I know. It's shocking.

Something needs to be done.

Meanwhile, back on planet AD, Rolex may be tight on leaks but only irresponsible amateurs would fail communicate issues with supply to their retailers.

So much controversy on the bezel color. 99.9% of the people who will see it on your wrist, won’t even notice or shall add, care. No matter what variant, I think you can achieve the personal look you want at certain lighting conditions and this is from a guy who wore a 16700 pepsi for 25+ years. I’ll take whatever BLRO thrown at me and move on.

Rolex can simply ask Omega to make the ceramic bezels for them.

There was another tread recently talking about this:
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=904828

Is your AD going to carry CPO?

I mean if you like the color “purple,” it’s awesome!
