Sometimes you do get lucky (Daytona)

It's been a week and I'm still floored.

I'm in my 30's and not wealthy. Own a small business I opened a couple of years ago. Wear flip flops to the office and $6 T-shirt's.

When I decided that I wanted my first Rolex last fall, I never thought I'd get serious consideration from a dealer. The first one I visited wouldn't even return a call or email after the fact.

Found a different AD- really great SA with a great manager. Got offered a favorable DJ41 immediately. Got my SD43 two months later.

Have been asking about something more collectible since April, with a short list of possibilities. Got the call last week for "a surprise". Came down to discover they offered me a ss white dial (panda).

Good stuff can still happen for the new guys.

Congratulations, you indeed can count yourself lucky!!

Saying you’re not wealthy and owning 3 rolexes which more than 95% of the world population cannot afford is a little exaggerated ;)

Congratulations.

Did you have to buy the other two watches to get the Daytona or did you want to own them independently?

Most of my clients are much more wealthy than I will ever be, but if I can afford to buy a Rolex at MSRP, I'm wealthy.

Congrats, consider yourself a lucky man. 99.99% won't get offered a Panda with your AD spend. The AD or SA must really like you or wants something from you.

Like the others have said, somehow you have clicked with the perfect combination. I have bought 3 Rolexes and several other pieces of jewelry from my AD. I have sent them presents after the Rolex purchases and they treat me like they are doing me a favor to even talk to me. I have been waiting for a PM Daytona forever. My last watch, the new Submariner, I went grey.

I too have an excellent AD - nice one, you just got a stunner of a watch most of us are really envious for, but happy for you ,

Wow, DJ41 + SD43 + Panda from a single AD. That's pretty amazing, OP. Count your blessings.

Totally bought them to enjoy. Zero strategy involved. Wanted a Rolex for ages but got totally rejected by the first AD I tried and ended up with a Blancpain. Grabbed the DJ41 and thought I was done. Then got the itch for a diver and couldn't pass up the Sea-Dweller. I honestly was just thrilled to have those. This was a shock.

Thanks. Yeah, totally agree. I think the AD seems to appreciate that I'm a genuine enthusiast. At least that's the sense I get. Hopefully nobody asks me to mule drugs now.
