That's the problem with a grail. It comes with its own set of problems.
One of our members said something the other day about a watch being too "precious" for his tastes, or something to that effect. Apologies if I'm misquoting, but this really hit home with me. Don't get me wrong. I'm not anti-PM or anything. Oh, heavens, no. It's just these days, I'm more into a watch that fits into what I'm doing rather than vice versa. My two cents. |

Leave it in the house in a nice case. Look at it day and night. You made it!

Always just do it, if you want it go for it.
I’m also on the UK and never understand the issue with people noticing/worried about wearing it out For over the 30 years I’ve worn flashy Day dates, bluesy, YMII, hulk etc. etc. and only ever has one person commented on my watch, people in general don’t look and don’t care what watch you wear

I don’t get the guilty thing, you did not steal it.
Probably best to skip any Rolex for that matter if you think like this. There are many beautiful cheap watches

Phrased another way: if you got the DD but never/rarely wear it, will it still be worth it to you? For some it may, but for most probably not. Best wishes |

If you anticipate a feeling of guilt upon buying it, think about [I]why[I] you exactly would feel guilt.
If it's because you feel it's too big of a spend to justify, pass on it. If you have the funds, and are not sure whether you'll be comfortable enjoying it, get it and see if you get over the feeling after a week or two. If it's because of anyone outside of your own family, get it. If you've developed this sense of awareness, you earned it as you want it for the right reason, and not because its a status symbol! I always have the second feeling, but eveytime I get over a new hurdle the feeling always goes away after a few days. I want it, I can afford it, I enjoy it. |
