Ownership experience of both black and white dial Rolex Daytona(116520)
Anyone here has owned or currently own both black and white dial daytona(116520). What’s the experience been like. Did you end flipping one of them and got another watch instead.
I recently acquired a black dial and just been so enamored by it. It wears so well on my 6.3” wrist. Making my Batman feels big and chunky. Having said that I’m thinking of getting the white dial too. Since this will be another 20k plus watch. I’d like to hear your thoughts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Where are you finding a Daytona for 20k? Blacks are like $26 and white are $32 afaik with current market conditions on grey.

Oh my bad. It's not the ceramic bezel.

I've owned both. I wore the white one for awhile, then sold it and purchased a YG Smurf Sub. I let the wife borrow the black one. Dumb maneuver. She'll never give it back.

Completely subjective, but I find the white 116520 the least attractive modern Daytona. Unlike the white 16520 and the 116500, the sub-dials are not black and don't offer that cool contrast with the dial.
Definitely try one on, though. Opinions will vary. |

they are both very cool. I had the white one and it is superb. I really liked that it changed its look dramatically depending on lights (from very blingy in direct light to very toolish when the light doesnt hit directly).

Ideally one should have both.

I had the white dial. Let it go but severely missed it so bought it again. Learned my lesson…

Love my white dial 116520. I prefer its white to the newer ceramic.
But for black, I prefer the ceramic. One day…I’ll hope to pick one up. Good luck and glad you enjoy yours! |

I tend to prefer the white dial but wear both.
However, I own several generations of Explorer IIs but none with a black dial |

I have owned both & like the black dial more. If it was me since you have the 520 I will go for the 116500 white which will make a great Daytona combo.

Went through a similar dilemma when I got the white 116520 but lately I've been admiring the black dial whenever I see one online.
It sure is handsome. Not sure about how I would feel owning both though. |

I started w a white dial then traded it towards a black dial which was traded away last year. I prefer the white dial over the black if I were to do it all over again. But if you have the means for both that isn’t a bad idea so you can alternate.

I have owned them both and all I can say, is the only Daytona I prefer in black,up until now the lates LeMans release, is the 116520. I find 116520 White Dial, with the silver sub dial outlines, to be by just boring and blah. 16520 along with the, 116500 in white really pop as a result of the black outline of the subdials.

I have both white and black 116520’s and love them both. White is probably my favorite of the two but the black is better looking. I tend to wear the black one only in the daytime since it’s almost illegible at night. I’ve had the white one almost a decade and it’s my “beater”.
Nothing wrong with owning both in my opinion |

I had the white from 2000-2004 and black from 2004-2008. Enjoyed both, contrary to the current conditions, the black one was the trendier with the 116520.
