Trade SD4K for 116500 Daytona White C...?

Hi All,

I am thinking of letting go of my SD4K and top up for a Daytona White C. The Daytona White C would be a daily wear just like my SD4K.

If you can have one watch only, would it be the Daytona or SD4K?

What does the community think, should I do it.

Cheers.

Will you miss the date? Do you prefer the chrono to the timing bezel, or does it not make much of a difference to you?

How much cash on top?

SD4K is a better one watch collection than the Daytona for me personally

Daytona. But it will be small for your wrist if you are using SD4K daily. What's the asked $ difference between them?

daytona might feel small, could consider keeping SD and get a speedmaster for a chrono

had both, kept the SD4K. Forget the hype, the SD4K is much more special and rare. Sure it is a nice watch, but for the price some are asking, no thank you.

Keep the SD4K IMO. Much rarer (if that's important to you) plus both the last of the 40mm SD's and the first of the ceramic-bezelled SD's. A one-off case that was never used on any other version, and just a fantastic all round watch that you can do pretty much anything with.

I'd go with the Daytona. I loved my SD4K but ended up letting it go. Just wasn't the most comfortable on wrist for me.

As long as you’re not getting fleeced, it’s a no brainer.

Obviously you will be adding significant cash but putting those specifics aside, I’d much rather daily a Daytona than a large diver.

I’d keep the diver and add the Daytona. If you need the funds from the sale of your SD4K to buy the Daytona, I’d just save a little longer

The SD4K is a future classic, very small production run, imho the goldilocks of all the divers.

However I am a Daytona fan first and foremost. If I had the choice to have one watch, the Daytona it is.

Has nothing to do with price, just the fact that a Daytona (even the 116500) can be worn with anything and everything, it is tough as nails, and fits like a glove on my smaller wrist.

I have tried many, but the Daytona is the one that always has a spot on my wrist.

Both great watches. I'd keep the SD4K personally but there is no wrong choice.

SD4k. No doubt.

As others have said time and time again, it's special. It's only going to go upwards in price, if you care about that.

The best sports watch about.

Are you referring to 116600 or 16610 (some people refer to 16610 as SD4k as well).

I had 116600 which I traded for 116520 which I then traded for 116500. So I would say yes as long as the added cash is in line with market value.

116500 is not my daily wearer as I find PCLs to be too blingy (the case is all polished as well). So it is more blingy. For me, date is a factor too. So 116500 was never a contender for daily wear.

So if you dont mind a lot of ploished surfaces (you have already mention date is not a factor) then it will make an absolutely great daily wearer.

Absolutely choose the Daytona over SD4K. Not even close and even if you have to pile cash on top.

Daytona >>> SD

The 116500 Daytona is considerably smaller than the SD4K. It will wear like a mini-watch in comparison. You may want to wait for a 126500.

For a one watch option I’d keep the SD4K for most of the reasons above
