Oh Costco!

Anybody else have a Costco problem? Can’t help but buy whatever they are selling

Recently noticed they are selling gold so I bought 2 oz.

They are pretty cool and come with a QR code on the back which links to a certificate.

Haha I wonder if it’s price adjusted (up/down) if you return?

Costco gets me just about every time I walk in, always leave with something I didn't know I needed. I can honestly say they never got me with gold though.......yet.

In my area a Costco and and a Bucee’s are right across the street from each other. The highway exit is bananas.

Costco has an amazing 94% employee retention rate achieved by paying good wages, giving medical and dental benefits to full and part-time employees, time and a half for weekends and holidays, and large yearly bonuses after five years. The result is a very loyal employee base. It seems like a simple recipe for success that other companies could follow but……

We have one local to us (about 3 miles away) and probably shop there twice a week. But for the most part, I get what is on my Reminders list. Especially in Naples, where restaurants are really expensive, we will get some of their prepared food for dinner sometimes.

I do tend to buy our booze (primarily wine and bourbon) there as well. The IL store has a really big bourbon/scotch section with a lot of moderate to very good choices.

Our favorite local Costco has many employees that have been there over 20 years!

My nephew worked for Costco in Las Vegas...started on carts, then promoted to Gas (both outside jobs in Las Vegas is not great), then stocking, registers, and finally food court which was supposedly the best position. Unfortunately, the food court staff had long retention times, therefore, higher pay rates, and that was cutting into the bonus of the manager of that department. She made up issues with each of the employees and had them all terminated and got lower paid people into her department resulting in a higher bonus for herself. They could have gotten together and made an issue of it, but decided to move on.

Now he is back at Costco (different city), retaining his seniority, being hired back as a supervisor and doing well. Could be a career for him.

They used to have PM Rolexes for sale on their site (years ago) and recently offered some odd Omega references for sale as well (Constellation, Deville, SM Heritage).

Pretty good if you find one you like, then purchase with Costco card for the rewards.

We impulsively booked a trip to Turks and Caicos in shoulder season through Costco back in 2018- it was very economic for a really nice place. Probably one of our favorite trips together- we had so much fun, and that was our first trip of 5 to our favorite place!

Funny enough this is an item you actually cant return. Because the price when they stock / sell it is based on the spot rate

I was following a deal thread the two times these were sold by Costco recently. Based on my understanding the price was good / at or slightly below spot and that usually when you go for bars you have to pay for a premium

They are beautiful no doubt!

Not sure if everyone knows this but you do not need a membership to buy booze there. Most have a membership already but for those that don't - now you know!

Here, they stock the gold beside the chitlins. Cold gold is safer.

I once attended a party at someone who deals with Costco real estate for one region (outside US) and all I recall is that the “apartment” Costco rented for him was huge in the $$$ part of town with a nice garden and a bathroom you could hide in.

I believe you can also use their pharmacy services without a membership. Probably the same for the optical and hearing aid departments too.
