The only person that can make that decision is YOU!

It depends on what you really want, I will go for the Daytona 100%.

Good suggestion, +1.

After AP's recent official collab with rapper Travis Scott, the brand is dead to me forever.
Are they making watches, or tennis shoes? AP is trash to the max now.

This RO is way better than this Daytona, in my opinion. I would prefer any "reasonable" RO better than any Daytona. All recent AP collaborations are highly regrettable, without a doubt, but no-collab ROs are still great watches. I very much hope that AP will get it together with the new director, though...

Great choice on the Daytona!
I’m also not a fan of AP. They make some beautiful watches, but it’s more jewelry and marketing than watch making. They still have a lot of outsourced movements, a lot of quality issues (even on 3 hander movements which is unacceptable to me for $25k+ pieces), and cut corners on design (non-centered date window on 38mm chrono which I wanted for awhile, but couldn’t accept a non centered window on a $40k watch). Another unacceptable thing to me - how can the brand be ok with releasing a watch that doesn’t have a centered date window on their most iconic watch, just so they can use an outsourced movement? Lastly, all the collaborations are distasteful choices IMO. |

Don't know what others experiences have been with AP but at least they will commit to getting you a piece within a certain time (even if it may be 12 months). I have a decent spend history (almost 165k in 18 months) but still can't get anything that resembles a commitment from my Rolex AD on specific pieces I have on my "wish list."

My grey sourced these recently because my AD hasn't come through with either a Pepsi or Panda. Because he remembered my bday and xmas. But I already let him know I would be interested in trading them in towards an AP when the right one becomes available.
Sorry couldn't upload the white gold Pepsi |

Thanks everyone! I definitely catch myself looking at my wrist a lot more since I’ve never worn anything but SS and now getting used to YG. It looks amazing in person!
Funny, I dropped by my AP boutique the day the Travis Scott watch was released and a lot of the staff were really surprised with this collaboration. They were all wondering what/who is next in terms of collabs. Though it’s a pretty cool looking watch, part of the charm of AP is the RO bracelet. If it was on a matching ceramic bracelet, Looking forward to adding a ROC in the future. But for now really enjoying my new YG Daytona! |

Daytona obviously, although neither would be my choice. I would much prefer a gold DD.

Try typing that in the AP subforum and see the reactions... I keep getting harassed whenever I produce a negative comment on the direction AP has been taking in the past years.

That particular Daytona has always got my motor running, so it wouldn't be a contest for me.
But...if you're not into wearing YG, then the AP is awfully nice. Gotta say, though, if you're going SS, I would rather have a steel Daytona. |
