I’m preparing to fight it out in the court to get it back. The legal cost is not what concern. I feel like being stolen from me twice.

I suspect legal work will be drawn out and expensive. Good luck.

I agree and that’s why I asked which reference was recovered

Hey everyone. Finally I got my 116610LV back from RSC in New York. Got the overhauled on the movement, replaced the crystal, crown, and the bracelet. RSC service is amazing. The case and bracelet have some bad scratches and it was buffed out. After more than 9 yrs, this Submariner finally came home.

Thank you for everyone’s input and Big Thank you to Rolex for keeping the data base of reported stolen Rolex.

Sir -

Great story on never giving up hope and actually getting reunited with a lost (stolen) treasure…. Very, very happy for you!!

PS
Hopefully, you now have a state of the art security system in your Commack LI home and you now insure all your jewelry and watches…..

So happy for you! Anything more you can share on the attorney front to make it happen?

I will let all of you know what happened and in between. With that said, I anticipated what will happened; and that is why I hired an attorney from the beginning. If you look at the responds from several members here, it is to vindicate myself and the legal outcome is the best proof of my ownership.
Will wrote up the summary soon.

Condition is not bad but not good. Scratches all over the bracelet and cases. The back of the case have several scratches from the springbar pop open when removing the end links. RSC did an awesome job in restoring the case and the bracelet. Have to replace the crystal, crown, and get a new bracelet.

You don’t need any forensic data. Here is the basic principal of legal ownership. One can not sell an item that he or she does not have legal ownership. The other side play hard balls and the moment I filed a lawsuit, it is game over for the other side. Your post is what confirmed my initial intention to get ready for a court showdown.

Just asking out of curiosity.

Thanks
It is the 116610LV serial number G58E2538 that was recovered.

Great to hear a success story! I'm still hope that I'll recover at least one piece from our family's burglary in 2011.

Congrats on getting one piece back! Curious how far back the buyers and sellers can go to blame the previous owner(s) who unknowingly sold a stolen watch

So sorry to hear about the break-in. That's a huge loss. Definitely post the serial numbers when you can. Check local pawn shops, online marketplaces, and maybe alert nearby watch forums. Hopefully, someone spots them soon!

Congrats, OP, and very interesting story.

Curious .... Did Rolex charge you for the work needed to restore the watch and replace the bracelet? And did you recoup any of your legal fees?

If you had a payout from the insurance company would it not belong to them? Not matter how many years had passed by

Back to the OP - can you please post some details for us on how the watches were stolen? Home invasion, burglary, were they secured at all, any alarm system, cameras, details that we can all learn from so that the same thing does not happen to us?

I would be very careful about using a bank safe deposit box:

https://www.foxnews.com/media/fbi-to...constitutional

Very easy for the bank to open your box and take the contents as well. I read an article about a collector losing a $10M collection that way:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/19/b...box-theft.html
