Tried on the 'Grail' YMII YG

Unfortunately, it's WAY to big, on my wrist at least. It's STUNNING, HEAVY and just breathtaking!! Even if I bought it, it's way too big on me, I couldn't pull it off...

I did get the James Dowling Best of Time Rolex Wristwatches as a bday present.... great read, ALOT of info, but alot of it is on vintage and history, which I'm not crazy over, but nonetheless a great read.

But one lousy 3 page chapter on the DD? Little disappointed by that, but overall, awesome book!

Steve, many happy returns for yesterday.

I know what you mean about the YM II in YG. I tried one on in 2007, when I bought my DD. It was massive and very heavy indeed.

Best regards,

Best regards,
Thanks bud!!

Everyone (well seemed like everyone) really disliked it when pics 1st started surfacing...I admit, 1st couple of pics, I though it looked too 'busy', but still thought it was amazing looking. Trying it on, though was a letdown. It looked plain silly on me. Having thin wrists to begin with doesn't help...oh well, I need a new grail...

It certainly was enormous. When I was buying my Day-Date, it was dwarfed by such a horoligical leviathan as the YM II.

Whether you like them, or loathe them, the sheer bulk and weight of such pieces is extraordinary.

It's an impressive piece with the movement but it's not my cup of tea.
