Too similar?
Own the SubC and 16700. I finally was able to switch inserts for the 16700 recently (too scared to do it the last time). Old thread here:
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=924612 I felt like both have the same look but still two different watches. Although, I may set the SubC aside for a bit because they're too similar. Thoughts or anyone on the same boat? No intention of selling. Leaning towards wearing the black GMT for a while as a daily wearer. I can switch it back to the BLRO as it makes it more diverse. I like how comfortable the 5-digit references are on the wrist and again, the most versatile. (borrowed photos) |

Beautiful duo Cris, honestly
IMHO they are nothing alike, aside from being two different complications, ones a 5 digit v that wear’s completely differently. If you really wanted to differentiate, get a jubilee for the GMT |

Thanks Brian! Yes, actually that's a nice idea and I thought of the same thing. The jubilee is so comfortable and actually stayed on the BLRO. The oyster stayed in the closet, but wanted to switch it up. It's summer in New York now, so I think the jubilee is the good time to wear. Do you find the jubilee comfortable to wear in the summer? |

I own a 6 digit BLRO and wear it on a jubilee. It’s the most comfortable watch I own. I find the jubilee “breathes better” and feels less sticky on my wrist compared to oysters. Love the combo in your picture Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Good to know! Thank you for the kind words. Been wanting the BLNR for a while so it'll be my next purchase. I did own the 116710LN years ago and it sits flatter on the wrist compared to the SubC. Not sure with the 126 GMT series. Is it the same for your BLRO?

Yes IMHO the 126 GMT’s sit flatter on the wrist than the Sub C’s. because of the flatter case back mostly. The jubilee also drapes on the wrist making it extremely comfortable. Good luck on the BLNR Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not at all.
To most people they probably look the same. Those 5 digit proportions are classic and unbeatable. It’s a shame we are still in the tank phase. |

I see the differences clearly and I enjoy owning and wearing fraternal-twin watches.

Completely different. Both sport Rolex but otherwise the best of different generations. Switching up bezel inserts on the GMT gives it great versatility.

True. I don't see a lot of the black 16700s/16710s in jubilee though. More on oyster. I just switched it up too. It's a bit unique. |

Yes! It changes the entire appearance! So diverse and interchangeable. Love it! To non-watch people, it looks like a Seiko SKX. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/th...rts-gmt-series |

Similar, yes, but too similar? I think we gravitate toward what we like and that almost always results in similarities in the collection.

I suppose it does if you close your eyes.
I have one of those Seikos and although it's no Rolex it doesn't seem at all flimsy at its price point. The VFM is astounding. I don't think you GMT and Sub Date look all that similar. Both distinct, both iconic, both superb watches. |

Not similar at all…others have mentioned why. Don’t look the same at all to me

They’re not that similar. I see two completely different watches.
