Datejust II vs SS Yachtmaster platinum dial/bezel!
What would be your choice out of these two and why ?
I need suggestions since I'm gonna buy one of the two in the coming days! Regards Error corrected.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the DJ II only comes in two tone, unless there is a SS model they are releasing?

DJII with a white stick dial & WG fluted bezel would be my choice.

I had been waiting for so long for the SS Yachtmaster , and now the new DJ II also seems to be a hot selling one ! I gotta choose either the Yachtmaster or DJ II in white stick dial for now !I'm soooooooo confused , can't have both either

I pick the YM. The datejust looks too disproportionate to me. Plus I always had a thing for the plat yachtmaster..

DJ, not even close. The Yachtmaster is the ugliest Rolex made.

DJII is elegant and modern at the same time. Believe me, you won't be dissapointed. There are so many options available unlike the YM.

To me, all of them. Just a bit gaudy. They should have Invicta on the face instead of Rolex.

Whilst I am not the Yachtmasters biggest fan I would have it over the SS DJ11 any day. I have now seen the new DJ11 on several occasions, normally when this happens I grow to like the watch more, the deepsea being a case in point.
But the SS dj seems out of proportion, the dial is way too big for a dress watch and the writing on the dial too small. Having said that due to some optical illusion the TT versions look much better and if you were giving us that option then I would have voted DJ! Actually the funny thing is that the SS DJ11 has given me an even greater regard for the original SS dj, what a classy dressy watch and the perfect size for a dress watch, everything on that watch is in perfect proportion and if it was me I would be scoring the older style over the newer! |

I HATE the claps on the YATCH-MASTER. Its cool on a sub, fine, its gives it that classic edge. but a dated clasps on a modern watch makes it look obsolete and poorly built. Unless you are getting the TT-YM, I would tell u to by the DJ II, but if i had to pick i would choosea GMT-IIC over the both of the watchs, sorry to add to your confusion.

Well TT YM is not my cup of tea , I already have the GMT IIc ,which IMHP is the best of all , and contrary to that I have to pick either a SS YM or the new DJ II in white dial !

I am a huge fan of the Yacht-Master. It is dressy, casual and sporty at the same time. The date-just is nice, but to me it is strictly a dress watch. If I had a Yacht-Master I don't think I would ever take it off.

The bezel on the yatchmaster is cleary a work of art, i seen one just yesterday on a gentleman with a blue dial instead of a grey dial and that really look awesome, but it's just something about the bezel on the yatchmaster that has a class of it's own.
