Laurent Ferrier vs Moritz Grossman?

Through a strange turn of events I am getting a watch from one of those brands for free.

I can pick between an LF or a Moritz Grossman piece.

I’m leaning towards the MG piece due to the finishing quality, engraved numerals and the incredibly made hands.

Am I missing something with the LF?

Wow, how fortunate. They are both terrific. For me, it would come down to the models I’d be choosing between, can you share the references in question?

LF, especially if it's the Sport Auto.

That's a can't go wrong decision if I've ever seen one.

I love both, have tried on neither, and suspect I'd prefer the fit of the LF models I like more than the MG models I like for me personally.

If you can miraculously ask for any LF for free, get the Classic Tourbillon "Grand Feu". Hand-finishing-wise, a LF is at a higher level. If I would pay for a LF, that Tourbillon will be the one. I wish I'm in your shoe though I never receive anything free in my life before.

MG
Very good looking watches w solid designs.

Prefer the more traditional case shapes of the MG over the LF pebble

Also

prefer the more appropriate (imnsho) diameter over the too large for a dress watch LF.

Considering your tastes and what you like in watches, I'm not sure how the answer isn't Moritz Grossman.

Get the MG… if you got an LF for free I’d be far too jealous.

What a great situation to be in. I would definitely go with Moritz Grossmann.

Most MG are 41mm while classic LF are 40mm.

The classic Tefnut time only model ( very nice), assuming that is what the OP is being offered, is 39mm and 8.5mm. Vs the 40mm 11+mm of the LF

The pebble case of the LF wasn’t interesting to me

Yes a Tefnut is what I am being offered.

The LF would indeed be 40mm+

How I feel now after asking around is still the same as in my OP - leaning towards the Moritz Grossman!

1. Design wise the specific two models I'm looking at, I like about the same.

2. The Moritz Grossman has objectively better finishing both on the back and the dial side.

3. The hands...beautiful on both but the Moritz Grossman is next level with the purple heating.

4. Someone on another forum who I respect a lot had major issues with his LF. A crown problem. There's a whole thread on it there. Kind of scary, and the support wasn't good.

I'll post some pics when it arrives in a month or so :)

Super cool and amazing to be getting one of these for free. Really excited to see this when it comes in. I’m interested in both brands.
