Smash 'n Grab!

I don't usually watch the local news, but as soon as they said "Rolex" I was all ears. Funny thing is that I have stood exactly where these guys are standing in that AD many times. I would have fixed my hair had I known I was on camera as often as I was I suppose honest dudes like us don't always think about these kind of things.

Pretty wild story.

I guess not everyone is vain like me, although I can walk by most mirrors without stopping for a look

I lived about 10 years total in Va. Beach while in the navy, shopped at Lynnhaven Mall many times. I'm not surprised, that area is getting worse and worse by the year.

Not a smash-n-grab, but a similar story.

I have a good friend that is the manager of a jewelry store. He was telling me last year that some guy came into the store and was looking at watches. The guy eventually got into the gold Cartier section (they don't have Rolex at his store) and the guy wanted to compare an all gold Cartier to an all gold Breitling. The sales girl, who was recently hired, got both out and laid them on the mat. Then somebody made a disturbance on the other side of the store (the store is on a corner in the mall, so it has two entrances), the sales lady turned around, and the guy bolted with $40K worth of watches.

Apparently he and his accomplices had been doing this at malls across central NC for a few months. Last I heard, they had not been caught.

What a shame. You'd think the glass would better made. Hope they're caught. What a shame.

They will most likely show up on ebay or Craigslist or be sold for crack on the street. Unreal. These are the kind of kids you see running around in $80K SUVs collecting welfare checks while their asses hang out of their pants. It makes my blood boil. Go get a job and work for it like everyone else.

It is a shame but why wasn't there a security guard? Every high-end jewelry store in my area has one. At least it would be a deterent.

It was probably the security guard who gave the crooks the info on how easy it is to steal from the place. You doubt it? I don't.
