Insurance Carrier

I have my Home, Automobile and my Motorcycles with Allstate right now. Been with them for almost 20 years and I am looking to change carrier.

Who is your Insurance carrier? and why?

Any Agent in the house?

I use Travelers for home (and jewelry) because their coverage is extensive and reasonable. For auto, I use State Farm since Travelers quote me a markedly higher premium for equal or lesser coverage. (Truth be told, my Travelers agent told me to stick with State Farm for auto since he couldn't come close to meeting their rates.) Good luck.

State Farm covers 3 homes and 5 of my vehicles, the other vehicles are with 2 different specialty companies... I have had a couple of major claims over the last 30 years with State Farm and they have always been top notch.
I own a body repair business and State Farm is one of the best to deal with and always take really good care of my auto repair customers.

I use USAA Emil... the best and lowest priced I've ever heard of! It used to be you had to be a Military Officer to be eligible for their service... but I believe now they have opened up coverage to the general public under certain circumstances. Worth a call...

I had Allstate for my vehicle for two years. Last year I switched to Nationwide and saved about $150 per month by switching. I'll probably never go back to Allstate anytime soon. Just this month when my renewal date came around again with Nationwide, I decided to get a quote with Allstate again, and they were much higher then Nationwide. Maybe it's because my age, me being under 25 and single is wreaking havoc on my insurance premiums lol

I am stuck! Stuck with Allstate!

I live in South Louisiana, so NO ONE is writing homeowners policies. Last year Allstate raised my hurricane deductible to 5%.

So that means I have a 10k hurricane deductible. I had 15k damage for Gustav and paid it all out of pocket because Allstate said they didn't owe me a whole roof!

I got a whole roof on my own dime!

I only insure 2 cars out of 7 with Allstate because I have to, to keep them from dropping me. My other 5 cars are under American Collectors.

When my house is paid off in 6 years, I plan on dropping my wind and hail and just keeping flood and fire. I would be better off self insuring than what I have now.
