Incoming for the wife

So I've been trying to get my wife into higher end watches for quite some time now. Every time we go to Patek or AP I always ask her if she likes anything there or wants to choose something for herself. She will usually prefer the watches designed for men since she doesn't like diamonds on them but they always end up being too big for her wrists.

This 34mm black ceramic AP was right up her alley though. She did her research and specifically wanted this newer version that's not the 50th anniversary, doesn't have the AP logo on the dial and with the rose gold date window and centre crown. I'm so proud and super happy for her!

This is the first time I've seen a full black ceramic AP watch in person and man is it amazing. Their finishing is on point and it's so hard to photograph because the watch is so damn shiny. I think it looks even better in person than in the photos... it's such a badass looking watch. Makes me want one for myself lol.

The funny thing is she asked for this last Friday and it arrived/was approved 3 days later. Talk about unfair, I wish I was a woman watch collector sometimes

I tried on the watch before they resized it for her. My wrists are just over 7 inches and I thought it looked ok. A bit small but not tiny, might be fine if you prefer smaller watches. Personally it's not for me and I would like something a bit larger.

Congrats to your wife. It looks great on her wrist. My wife loves hers and it's the watch she wears the most.

Thank you all! I'm so jealous of her watch and I'm a bit surprised how much I like it

Does she have any issues with how the ceramic holds up? I know it's supposed to be more scratch resistant at the expense of being brittle. My wife is planning to daily this for the first two years because of the AP coverage and she's usually not that careful with her watches.

No issues whatsoever. She basically wears it daily. She stopped wearing her other AP's pretty much because she says they get scratched too easily. I always tell her the 2 things she needs to be careful of is dropping it or banging it hard against a hard surface as the ceramic can break.

I’ve already said if it happens I’d be super keen. Was strongly hinted at when I was last at APH.

Looks amazing. I agree with your wife on no diamonds on watch’s. Just curious what size is your wife’s wrist. It fits her perfectly!

Awesome, that's great to hear. I will let my wife know, thanks.

Thanks! My wife's wrists are about 15cm or just under 6 inches. She likes her watches a little on the tighter side so it doesn't slide around.

It's a supernice watch! Wish they made it in 37mm. Than I could twin it with the missis!

Thank you all. I think I'm falling in love with the black ceramic too. It's mesmerizing and a joy to look at. My wife is obsessed with it and never takes it off... she even wears it to sleep!

I think this is what watches are all about, they give you that warm fuzzy feeling and you can't stop admiring the way it looks.

Congratulations to your wife. The ceramic royal oaks are very special, I’m always worried about my steel ones picking up scratches, having that durability of ceramic is very useful for wearing often.
