3940G pre-purchase questions
What should i be looking for in a 3940G? Are there certain versions that come with display caseback? Any years i should be targeting?

The early gold versions came with just a solid case back and pin buckle in a small non winding wooden box. The later gold versions had both backs, a deployant buckle and a neat compact square winding box.
I would look for a later release for the additions. |

Late 2nd/3rd series should have a second caseback and deployment which are both great.

My 3940g (3rd edition) came with everything noted above. It might be my current favorite. It's such an incredible watch. Hope you find one soon!

Sharp case, visible hallmarks for me and unpolished preferable. Service history always good. Nice to have the original watch winder and original box papers but not essential.

The case having visible hallmarks is big, same with ensuring the original shape is there. Personally I find it very hard to justify the premium for the first series so I am trying to find a third series in yellow gold. Was considering platinum too but I think yellow gold suits the classic aesthetic of the watch.
