How about them Patriots?

Not a fan, but what a way they pulled that game off. pure luck. I couldn't believe Brady threw such a terrible 2pt. conversion pass either. Funny how the bills lost. Makes me wonder if the Patriots will be a weak team this year?

Brady definitely needs to shed the cobwebs of a whole year off. They've lost a lot of talent this year in hopes of aquiring new talent for the future. That Wilfork penalty (roughing the passer) was BS but otherwise a fairly good game. Always fun to see both teams turn it up at the end.

Pittsberg has the Rolex Corporate Green jersey, so they are my team.

Also they had a convincing win over Carolina, so yeah, they are destined for the Super Bowl this season

I think you mean Philadelphia but they have Vick. Bad karma.

The Pats are going to need to play better than that if they hope to beat the Jets next week or anyone else this season. It seems to be a rebuilding year. I'm sure they'll try their best but without experienced players in leadership roles their chances are low. As long as we have good games showing a lot of heart that's all we can ask for.
There's no glory (or gloating) over beating a weakened team, no matter how strong they once were.

I know. When in Vegas I was too scared to bet on football. Especially thefirst game, you never know what you're gonna get. I was going to bet on the bears as a 3 point underdog. And I would have lost that bet. Just a pure coincidence that I didn't place it.
San Diego ending was great too. They also played like garbage. That 4th down touchdown pass for the raiders was amazing.

Patriots winning was lucky for them since they didn't play a great game. NFL football is my favorite sport to watch but I don't get all worked up over any of the games and results!!!

Gruden said it....you simply cannot replace that many pro-bowlers on defense and still expect to be a top defensive team. They will still have a great offense that will keep them in the upper echelon of the NFL, but they are realistically an 11-5 team. They will lose to the Jets, Titans, Dolphins, Ravens, and possibly the Colts or Falcons.

Im a huge NE fan and I admit that they were very lucky to win that game. I dont see a super bowl for us this year. Pit. and Tenn. are much stronger.

I think they will easily take the jets and dolphins out of your list. I think the ravens and Falcons will have huge years, think the colts might be a letdown.

They play the Jets and Dolphins twice. I'd bet on a home/away split. Buffalo almost beat them at home. What does that say?

I totally agree. There is just something about the way that team carries itself. Bob Craft is actually a very good guy.

I am not a Patriots fan, but the last 10 minutes of last night's game was great!

I love touch-and-go close games. In addition to making great viewing, they are "teachable moments" for my kids, about perseverance.

DESPISE/ TOTALLY agree, is a strong language and I feel calls for some introspection by the user/s.
I live in Patriot country and reckon the only thing they have done 'wrong' is win the Super Bowl quite often. Brady deserves some credit for not complaining about his injury and coming back. As for Belachek, I can see that he doesn't fit the mould for a celebrity figure and is a bit too cerebral for many connected with the game.
I think negativity might be better focussed on the dog abuser Vick who is apparently now popular with fans in Philadelphia.

BB was an average coach at best before Brady. His career winning percentage pre-Brady was .428. He does a good job with defenses because he's probably best suited to be a coordinator. He certainly does not have the personality to lead a team. He doesn't draft well. His coaching tree is extensive and atrocious. Crennel and Mangini just aren't good coaches, and I think McDaniels will be a poor coach as well. Also, IMO the jury is still out on his cheating scandal. The NFL whitewashed it because the Pats are their ESPN golden boys.

Don't worry, we have been hating on Vick as well.

Yeah, none of the other teams were filming the way the Pats were. They were the only team doing it. You tell em.

Phew! thank the Lord he is only average. Imagine how successful the Patriots would have been. As for filming--Why do the coaches cover their mouths when giving instructions? Surely the 'pure as the driven snow' other team reps' avert their eyes,NO???? Are they not gentlemen?
I still contend that America can't get over the fact that a great football team comes from New England. Last Sunday's retro uniforms reminded me of the not so good years at Foxborough.

I really think BB just rubs people the wrong way so easily. Brady is awesome. The Pats are the Yankees of the NFL.

No way. They don't just open the checkbook for anyone like the Yanks.
Also, they lost too many experienced players to be competitive with their records of previous years.

That was terrible. Hang up the old retro uniforms and lets never relive those days again. Minute Man? Bah - bring on the Flying Elvis.

This isn't going to be like years past, and that's ok. They'll win some and lose some. Just hoping it's not an injury prone season.
