Diamonds falling off Raymond Weil
Hi.
Gave my wife a beautiful RW watch two yeaars ago. It´s a parsifal with diamonds all round on the bezel. Few weeks ago we noticed that 4 diamonds were missing (had fallen off). I took the watch to the dealer and he had the diamonds replaced and charged me $200. I was wandering... should I rightfully pay for this? Another question: My wife usually wears the watch when swimming and showering. Could the water harm or damage the ruggedness of the diamonds...?? |

It does happen and I think it is on you to cover it, perhaps look into the warranty a bit more or someone who knows will chime in here soon. The watch is waterproof to 100m so swimming and showering should be no problem, diamonds are quite rugged so I would not worry about the stones themselves but perhaps how well they are mounted as well as how they are mounted.

Sadly this could happen to any watch or jewellery items. It is why some stores offer some sort of "extended warranty" more like insurance by them, to replace any stones that possibly get lost etc etc. Also, with stuff like this it is good to look into local companies who can insure all of your jewellery and watches (might go under your home owners policy). I have owned Raymond Weil before, not my favourite brand now but they make some good stuff, and again it could happen to anything. Hopefully it does not happen again and it is nice to see your wife using the watch for all of that stuff
