Hello Everybody!

My name is Chris & I recently found your forum because of a watch that is driving me crazy. I'm trying to find out which model it is based on a vague description & a reference number that does not appear to exist.

Here's what I have to go on...
Quote:
One midsize SS Rolex watch. This watch features a fluted bezel & a rose Roman numeral dial w/date function at the 3 o'clock position. It is attached to a SS Rolex jubilee bracelet. SN#Y440831, Ref#1729201, UPC#410015664607
I've picked up 20 new links for the Rolex section of my bookmarks but I haven't come across the model, or an image that I can use in the appraisal that I'm writing. Right now I am

Can anyone help?

Well serial dates it to 2002 but never seen or heard of that ref number. Now the Midsize Rolex date start with a ref 78.Check the Model ref number again at 12 oclock between lugs

Hi Chris,

A big hello and welcome to TRF.

As Padi pointed out, the Y-series goes back to around 2002, but the model no. you've given seems a bit odd....just check between the '12' lugs and you'll get the facts.

Good luck - JJ

Welcome to TRF, Chris. I hope you work out the details regarding the midsized (probably Datejust, and probably not all original) Rolex.

BTW, you could have used the latin species name for your userID, Ninox Connivens, and really confused everyone. I guess barkingowl has a better ring to it!

Thanks I appreciate the help. I will call the client & ask to see the watch when it returns from being serviced. That's what I get for thinking the other appraiser knew what they were doing.

Welcome to TRF Chris. I like the avatar, being a bit of a birdman myself.

In your dreams, sheep shagger.

No chance that thing would ever get me to like an orange colored watch.
