Daytona - not possible to put a bracelet on it ??

Hi
Does anyone know whether it's possible to put a (white gold) bracelet on a Daytone model 116519, i.e. one originally fitted with a leather strap? A friend of mine was told it is not possible to do that, which I find a bit strange. Can't see why really, provided Rolex hasn't put the lug holes in different positions.

It's not possible without removing the "end link" where the strap is attached to, which requires the removal of the bezel. Even then, I have my doubts as to whether a Rolex bracelet would sit flush against the case, and actually purchasing a genuine Rolex WG bracelet would cost a small fortune

The lug pin positions are wrong and the end links and case do not match up correctly.

So then, by the same logic, you could put a leather strap on a Daytona originally fitted with a bracelet, but it would look weird, correct ? (i.e, too big of a gap ?)

I have been looking to find a way of fitting a 116519 bracelet to my 116520 . Doesn't seem to work . I even toyed with the idea of getting the end links from a vintage Tudor , but one would have to drill extra holes between the lugs ... no way I'm having that done .
