Fake or Not? Submariner

Hi All - been reading this forum for a while now and it is a fantastic source of info. A friend of mine gave me this Rolex and I don't think it is real, but thought I'd post a few photos here to get your opinions. Let me know what other information or photos would be helpful if needed. I don't have a box or any paperwork. Pics are here and thanks for your help. I'm a newbie, first post, so thanks for your patience as well.

The first thing to do when presented with a "Rolex" with a date function is to manually advance the hands to see if the date jumps quickly with a an audible snap about midnight.

Listen to the watch, feel the watch and hardware that way only a "Frankin" watch should fool one. Or perhaps a fake that would cost as much as a genuine Omega to make.

So how are you going to give it back to him now?
And tell him it is a fake?
He probably knows.

No I'm back - it's Easter so family duties called. I'm going to confront him on it. No drive-by thread here as I'm interested in the Sub history and want to actually have a real one soon.

Awesome ! It's just that we see so many "ask and run" threads that we get leery after a bit.

After hanging around this place, your outlook becomes quite perverse.
