Do you remember when you first got it?
Oh I remember... The day I got my DJ. What a day... I was so happy... It was a nice day in June... I was very happy... My dad who gave me the watch has a smile on his face... that nothing could ever get it out. I have no pics of the day. But I do have a pic of how excited when I bought my first not cheap ($389 of my own money!) swiss watch. I was on a cruise. I was so excited... that I slept and the watch was in the night stand! My mom took the pic... here it is! Have a pic of the day u got ur wanted watch? Show us!
Don't laugh... I know I was Asleep! and my greatly missed DJ... |

The day I got it was like 32 years ago so I expect I was much like you, but to be honest, no I don't remember.

Yes of course I remember.
It was October 13, 2007. My wife and I went out to dinner to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary (October 17). When we got home she gave me the wrapped Rolex box. She was so excited that she couldn't wait until the 17th. I'll never forget that.

Hi Gaby. I got my first Rolex (SS Sub Date) in May 1993 as a college graduation gift from my mom. We were all having dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston when she presented it to me right before dessert.

My first
My first Rolex was a DJ 16030, I was at a watch fair and I couldn;t make my mind up between a DJ and a Breitling Blackbird.
On the way back I decided to have the DJ, it came with a champagne dial and jubilee. I called the guy and offered him 999 euro's for it. He sold it to me for this ammount. In the next week I had a new dial installed at the AD and the bracelet changed to an oyster. Jack |

I remember that after I bought my Sub, on the way home I had to stop by Lowes to pick up two sheets of dry wall. I didn't want to leave the box and papers in my truck so I was carrying them around the store with me.

It was just last Saturday so only several days ago and it was a GMT Master II with ceramic bezel. I wanted one for the last 8 years and decided that I waited long enough and made myself a nice Easter present! I own Breitlings but this watch is it for me and I'm in HEAVEN right now

Thankfully I don't have to think that much. It was on the 25th of March when I purchased my first Rolex, an Explorer I, while on vacation in St. Thomas.
It's true what they say though, you never forget your first! |

Mine was a Sea Dweller I bought from Tourneau NY on the phone as my first purchase with a shiney new Amex card back in the early 80's.
I got a frantic call from American Express within 5 minutes "We didn't expect your first purchase would be such an expensive watch..." I reminded them of their no limit policy and allowed as how I was off to the Jaguar dealership. (where I bought a nice XJ6 the same day...) My statement looked like a typo.

I had special ordered mine since I wanted a rather rare dial on my DJ. It was Halloween 2008 and Ben Bridge had called me to pick it up.
It wasn't very warm, perhaps 75 degrees, but I had to park and walk maybe half a mile to get to the store. I was sweating a little and my wrist had swollen a little from the brisk walk; I remember thinking I might have to order another link in case I put on weight. The watch at that point was tight. I didn't understand wrist swelling at all. For some time after that I was finding new plastic and removing it. I didn't think the side of a Rolex had plastic. I was never the type that keeps the plastic on until it falls off. |

Where did you go to school? I had to ask when I saw Boston.
