Who wants a Moonphase?

Check this out, pretty cool!

Pretty neat! I love moonphase, my grail is the Lange 1. I would love Rolex to make a moonphase. I think the Cellini line could handle it nicely.

Great find Kyle!

Many years ago, Rolex used to make moon-phase chronos...those watches are now worth a fortune! Maybe if Rolex sees your pic, it might inspire them to start making those beauties again? Anyway, thanks for posting!

Quite true but would hardly call them watches with a lot of complications not like true moonphase watches. These were watches from the late 1940s early 1950s Rolex moon-phase used a ebauche from Lemania or ETA the Cal 780 Ref 8171 ref 6062 S.Steel they made them in gold, and SS both worth a lot more today Now in the late 1940s early 1950s the Ref 8171 6062 was Rolex flagship models, but were a very poor sellers, because mainly the high price even then. Now you could get watches with exactly the same complications, with the same movement but under a different brand but same ebauche as Rolex used but they were quite a bit cheaper. Now the Rolex moonphase was made in very small numbers, only around 350 in yellow gold with snap backs, only 50 in pink gold, and very few in SS,and its the Oyster S,Steel thats the most expencive retail today in the vintage world
