Howard Frum Jewelers ???
Could I get some feedback on Howard Frum Jewelers in Chicago? I did a forum search and it appears they're a good dealer but none of it is very recent. They have a DJ I'm very interested in. Thanks!

A member referred me to them when I was in the hunt for my SD. I contacted them; forgot the guy's name I was dealing with. Provided him w/ my name & number. He said he'll get back to me....never did.
Oh well, I've got my SD now, brand new from a reputable seller here. Happy Hunting! |

I went to that shop earlier in the week when I was visiting Chicago.
Some real characters in the shop. Asked to see a 5513 without the white gold surrounds. Got a blank stare. After describing what I wanted, I got an Ohhhh...one without the chrome rings? Watches are for the most part displayed in little plastic pouches. Feels sort of pawnshoppy... Howard waited on me...nice guy. They had a couple of new Daytonas but they were a tad spendy. Also looked at some Steve McQueen Expys and an ancient Sub w/out crown guards...but it was way beyond my desire and means. Sorry I cannot comment on their rep. They were nice enough to give me the name of a Vintage dealer in my city. |

C.D. Peacock in Chicago is one of the best ADs I've ever seen.... Ever. Check it out, they have a huge selection.
So yeah, I guess you can count that as a recommendation |

I would only recommend Howard Frum, if you are looking for vintage or used piece. I don't think there are that many vintage or 2nd hand dealer in Chicago.... other then Turneau. And we all know just how great Turneau is...
I would suggest if you are looking at a brand new rolex... go to CD Peacock. I can refer someone if you want a name. |

Agree they have a pretty good selection, but they do very little discounting based on my recent experience. I heard they used to be very competitve in the past.

The OP was asking about Howard Frum...
Btw, I did see an older DJ - silver tapestry dial - in the display case. |
