Any more info on TUDOR SUBMARINERS?

Hello all,

Have become more interested in "Tudor Submariners" (not totally accurate, but it'll be the term I'll use). Been reading through old threads as well.

Basically, I am trying to figure out a basic evolution of the Tudor Sub..

So, the timeline extends from something like a ref. 9411 [i know there are earlier models] to something like a 79190?

So my main questions are:

1. What were the "tudor sub" models produced during the 80s to 90s? When were the last models produced that could be considered to be "tudor subs"?

2. Being somewhat value conscious... Anybody have any idea what the lower price Ref/models would be [I assume the 90s models would be cheaper]? If so, can someone provide an approximate figure?

Thanks...looking forward to hearing some responses from the Tudor experts here!

Anybody have any other inputs..feel free to join in!

I was wondering the same thing.

I have heard of Tudor in the past but never gave the brand much thought. However, once joining TRF I have been very interested in Tudor's.

I drool everytime I see Dan P.'s Blue snowflake!

Thanks, Dean.
There's lots of info to learn but not easy to find about Tudor Subs. The links from on42 will help.
The coolest aspects of Tudor Subs are the blue stainless steel, snowflake, and lollipop variations that can't be found on Rolex Subs. Plus the price point, although gaining value, is easier to handle as well.
Google and research as much as possible, decide on the reference you like, then scour the watch forums to find your future Tudor Sub.
Best of luck and enjoy the search,

I started with finding a Tudor Big Block chrono right before their value began to escalate. I was so impressed with the quality that it seemed inevitable to learn about more references from Tudor. Then found a "jumbo" Date + Day w/ rare rotating bezel, then the snowflake, then two more Tudor chronos........and so on...........and so on.......

Don't know exactly what you mean, but doesn't it depend on value on the package as to whether its stopped or not?

Here's mine - it has the most symmetrical dial of any watch I've seen.

Thanks for all the pics and help guys..

Probably won't do any purchasing for awhile..but who knows? Always good to be prepared right?

But I really am interested in getting one at some point! The vintage Tudor Subs are real beauties.

Still trying to find more time to do more research but this thread has been helpful...and it seems like there is a lot of love out there for the Tudor Sub!

That is such a beautiful watch! The triangular hour markers, in combination with the lollipop hour hand is just perfect!

Best,
