Pls help identifying this rolex? Never seen one like this...
I've been looking for the perfect Rolex and in my head, I've had a datejust / oyster with a red seconds hand, just don't know if it actually existed (other than the turn-o-graph).
Then I found this! http://i.ebayimg.com/23/!BqzGr7!BWk~$%28KGrHqUH-C0EuZZZiR8QBLw7oZ3n%29w~~_12.JPG According the the seller, the dial has been refurbished and the strap is new, which could indicate this watch may be original but heavily modded? I've also been advised it's a fake but can anyone else here shed some light? Second opinions? Third opinions? |

I have no knowledge whatsoever on vintage rolexes but I'd say that crown and case looks a bit shady doesn't seem to be rolex style at all. But then again at least half the watches on ebay are fakes

Some one will be along shorty to help you out - I've never seen a vintage like that with a red second hand. Could be an add on, could be a fake or it could be the most popular vintage model there is and I just don't know what I'm talking about lol

Why don't you try posting in the watchout section? The guys over there seem to have lots of knowledge on picking out fakes

The model is: 6084. The serial is: 851822, dating the watch to the 1950's. The case-back has the number 6518, and the movement has two numbers: F 80062 and 95902 Does this sound about right to you guys? Why would the movement have two numbers? And why is the caseback number different from the model number? |

Second hand is certainly not original and as you pointed out the case-back belongs to a different watch. I'm not sure on the movement questions, though.

Hello and welcome! To be honest with you the dial looks a little off I have never seen hour markers or a red second hand like the ones in the picture. If you can try stoping by the "For Sale" section on the Fourm there are many trusted sellers there.
