Uk price rises.....

Peered into the ADs window today. GMT II was £4460 which means no change in price yet, at least for that model.

It looks like we've escaped one for now - we've heard nothing directly from Rolex anyway. If they were going to raise prices, my money would be on a January 1st change to coincide with the VAT rise

We had a huge price rise this week in France, I'm surprised if you won't get yours soon.

Ditto.

Would Rolex really put AD's through all the greif of changing prices now only for them to go up again in a few months...

Yep they would. Price rise is imminent in UK. Due mid month according to a couple of respectable sources.

I have never known Rolex, in the UK at least, to issue a new price list mid-month it has always been on the first of the month.

Are these respectable sources selling Rolex watches per chance?

Nope. Not selling. Notifications mid month for Oct implementation. We'll have to wait and see for certain. UK is currently selling rolexes cheap compared to Europe. Equalization looks to be coming soon.

It is most unlikely that Rolex will increase the World price, but ignore the UK. I know we are a small group of countries, but we sell them well.

As for the possible January price rise; Don't think so!

The VAT rises to 20% in January, so if Rolex wait until then to increase prices, they will look even worse than if they increase prices now.

If they increase prices tomorrow, by 10% then the watches will increase by 10%, if they wait until January a 10% rise will equate to a 12.1% increase, I think.

Psychologically, which one is more likely to put off prospective customers?

Then again, I have been wrong before, but not normally when it comes to price rises.

If, as has been suggested, our own currency has sufficiently increased in value against the CHF then this would negate the need to raise UK prices. If however UK prices are to rise soon I'm just confused as to why they did not do this at the same time as the other markets, European at least, on the 1 September.
