The German/Swiss connection...
I've never been a big Mercedes Benz kind of guy, but my wife recently bought one, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a couple shots of two brands that are recognized the world over!
Ok, here is a picture of the car sans the Rolex. It is a GL-450. Last edited by ABushman; 22 April 2007 at 10:42 AM.. |

Thanks Mike.
It's the GL-450, the new 7 passenger SUV. She traded her Ford Expedition in on it. I'm not sure why she "needed" a new car, but then again, I'm not sure why I "need" another Rolex! |

My parents were going to get the GL diesel, but the sales guy ticked them off and so they bought a Mercury Mountaineer. That GL is a fabulous vehicle and in a fabulous color. Nice buy and a nice watch.

Thanks guys.
Frank - we thought about the diesel, but it isn't available in California. Apparently, it doesn't meet our emissions requirements. |

That's what I heard, that the diesels won't be sold in Cali until the bluetec engines are released. Those are supposedly able to pass the requirements.

If you drive the Mercedes with the Sub still in the cars grill, does that keep the Sub wound?

No Mike, I added the picture after you queried about the model - you're not going crazy. (Well, at least about that!). The color is called Capri Blue, but it looks different depending on the lighting and viewing angle, anything from a deep purple under florescent, to midnight blue, to almost black as you noted.
Here's another shot taken from the front - couldn't get the whole thing in from this angle without moving my other truck - was being lazy. The blue just forward of the tire is probably the best sample of what the normal color is in daytime lighting. |

Gee, and I thought this was going to be a thread about Sinn, Doxa or Limes or something...
At work, I was outside on break as three salesmen in an equal number of GL-450's drove up and delivered them to our esteemed upper echelon as 'company cars'. I had mixed feelings as I've not gotten (amongst others) so much as a cost of living raise in the last 2 years. On checking them out, nice indeed. It's good to be king...

That color is pure class
- I wish they wouldn't throw them front liscense plate brackets on. It is a requirement here in Illinois too, and I have them on my 06 Pathfinder! UGLY Sticks out like a sore thumb. |
