How long have you been here at TRF?

Given that we have 43,970 members at the time of this post (that number has probably already increased), its easy to find your member number. Just place your cursor on your name in any of your posts and look at the left lower corner of your screen just above the taskbar. There's your member number.

Occasionally, my fellow commuters tell me I am #1.

But on TRF, I am #25,569

I confess. I have multiple personality disorder and created about 10,000 accounts when I signed up.

That's exactly why people say that the forum changed. Things always change, with posters coming and going, but when the membership doubled in a year, on its way to tripling in another year or so the whole intimacy of the place changes. The old "insider" jokes are diluted, many "me too" threads appear, nonsense, and more uncivilized members appear and cause trouble. Some keep coming back. The same old discussions/arguments that used to come up once a year, become once a month, than once a week. Regulars get bored and move on to something/somewhere else, or another brand perhaps in the case of this forum. I've seen it happen now at 3 popular watch forums since 1996. The really old guard are few and far between now, and we may have lost another just this week. The forums are a victim of their own success. The larger they get, the harder they are to manage. Just look at the place where we all go when TRF is down. They attempt to "control" the masses with 50 different forums and subforums. It's hard to keep up with friends and varied interests when things are divided over so many different forums. Of course 50k+ active members can't all post in one place either.
27K here BTW!
