Sad sad day damage to sub-c LV

I've only had my watch for 12 days bought it on Dec. 1st
Slipped yesterday and fell to the ground and the damage happened to my brand new sub-c LV
the scratching is on the first three parts of the bracelet and a 'tick' on the top right of the case...
v.sad...

can it be repaired to be like new? anyone been through this?

Even without photos, I feel your pain. New watch and all. I suppose depending how bad it is will make you decide to have it repaired or not. Hang in there.

Sucks that this happened to your new Subc but I wouldn't loose sleep over it. Have it polished and bring it back to new.

Sorry to hear about your luck,but it could have happened to anyone of us. It does appear I would think that most if not all of it could be taken care of by a good polishing.

From the Picture its hard to see how deep the chip is. But if it bugs you enough and you can't wait 5 years,I say turn it in to an RSC, have it polished and ask them about the case and see what they say.

Sorry to hear about this, but these things happen and your watch is tough enough to handle it. You can get a Bergeon tool and brush those spots to blend them back in to the undamaged parts. It won't be absolutely perfect, but I think you can clean it up. Once you've worn the watch for a bit longer, it will develop other age marks and scuffs/scrapes, so those won't look so noticeable.

It is not too bad. A light polish should do the trick and the chip does not stand out. Take it to a good local watchmaker and see what they say.

This may be of little consolation, but the "battle scars" that your watch will get over the years, in my opinion, only ad to the over all history and patina of the watch.......
Take it to a good AD and have them give it a polish and forget about it....

Well... Hope you are okay - no bruises or broken bones. The damage to the watch can be fixed.

I'm sure it would be fixed by the RSC. I have a kink on one if the lugs on the 116520 (actually it was done by the wife...), I will just wait til the service to have it fixed by the RSC.... (fingers crossed)

As long as you are not injured thats the main thing,the other its a watch and can easily be repaired.Brushing the bracelet is quite easy your could do it yourself,or just wait till service is due.As I am sure your watch will get scratched again thats just a fact of normal wearing life.

I am not a watch specialst, however I have repaired minor nicks and scratches in other metals and auto paint. Generally, minor scratches can be sanded and then polished to reduce the depth and sharp edges of the nick or scratch and thus minimize the visual impact.

However there is a limit. If it is sanded too much, a valley is created and the shape/contours of the case edge changes which will look worse than the original nick. I don't know if deep gouges can be filled and sanded smooth, I would think the filled section would show. But I am sure an expert can polish most of the scratches out.

As stated before, all things incur damage and wear and tear over time. It is always very disappointing when it happens, however most things can be repaired to minimize the appearance of the flaw.

Sorry to hear about your fall and the damage to your beautiful Rolex. It does add character to your watch and is a good story...12 days and wham! That said, I think the marks on case and bracelet can be easily fixed by a professional.

Man, I'm sorry to hear this but the good thing is that your ok. As most have said here, I think it will polish out quite nicely with a visit to your AD. The nick in the case I cannot say for sure because I cannot tell the depth of it but I am fairly certain that it will buff up like new as well. Best of luck to you.

That's tough. I'm sure someone can get out the scratches. The chip will probably be a little tougher, but as other people were saying, it adds a little character to the watch. Too bad you just dropped it. It would have made for a better story if it happened while saving someone from a burning building, or fighting off a group of ruffians.

When I first got my watch, all I could think about was the possibility that I might bump it up against something, or that it might get some minor scratches on it. In part, that's why I bought mine pre-owned and "broken in." It took some of the pressure off of me to keep it perfect. After a little while, I was like "F-it," it's only a watch (a really awesome watch, but a watch nonetheless). Now I enjoy it much more. That said, I would not be happy if I dropped it, or it got scratched...especially if I just bought it new a couple of weeks ago. I feel your pain.

Sorry to hear about your new watch. As far as I know an RSC will not do a full polish outside of a full service. I asked the NY RSC about polishing out two small nicks on the case of my GMT IIC and they would not do it without a full service. Hope you have better luck.
