Dilemma and don’t know what to do

I love my GMT IIc I bought BNIB in April (my first Rolex) and use the 2nd time zone a lot since all of my family lives in Germany but the only thing that drives me crazy is how fast the PCL’s pick up scratches and you can see all fingerprints on them what drives me nuts!
I know it’s a sport watch and shouldn’t be pampered but I still don’t like it.
Since the first time I saw the new Sub-C green 116610LV pics here on TRF I felt in love with the watch as well and threats like “Show me you Sub-C 116610LV with all the beautiful pictures just make me would like to have one very bad.If I would buy the SubLV then the GMT had to go!
What to do since I really love booth but only can have one at this time?

The grass is always greener. I mean thats why I have more than one. There's always something a bit appealing about the next one that the current one just does not do. I Luv my GMTCII, but I also Luv my Sub LV.

I recommend you save for the SubLv and that way you can have and enjoy both.

Fingerprint issue vs timezone functionality that someone actually genuinely needs... hold off on the swap and save for the LV.

Have the PCL's brushed with a satin finish to match the rest of the watch...several members here have done it, and I think it looks great! Good luck on whatever you decide to do!

Buy the one that makes you happy. There is always going to be something out there that you like more than the one you have but we can't have them all, well at least some of us can't. I am testimony to this always trying to find the perfect one and now I have the one I want and the rest are beautiful as well but you have to be happy with what you have.

My AD told me that he could send the watch to RSC in Florida and have them brush the bracelet to get rid of the PCL....he said that he had done that before for some of his clients. Something I was thinking about as well!

I know you pain but if you can save for the LV it would go well with a green cycling jersey and you don't have to get rid of the GMT. :)

Why would you have to send the entire watch just to brush the bracelet? BTW, there are a few threads here that will show you how to do it yourself with professional results..

I'm thinking about that for quit some time and already talked to my AD...no problem he says and he would take care of it.. +- $75 for the all brushed satin finish.

Sorry, my mistake....only the bracelet would be send. I don't think I would like to do this myself. A professional would be my way to go!

I also feel the pull of the new LV and would have to sell my IIC to be able to afford another watch. Like you, I enjoy my GMT and know I would miss it and the classic black
dial. On top of that, even if I sold the IIC privately, I am going to take a financial hit. On top of that, I'd have to cough up the monetary shortfall. Real world cost to me to make the swap would be probably three thousand with tax. I'd rather save and maybe get a pre owned in a few years. Besides that, I think the green dial will be noticed and identified more quickly as a Rolex which can be good and bad. Some people enjoy the attention and some do not.

Its not rocket science to satin brush it yourself, search and look at the threads, you will save yourself the 75$ and the pain of being without your watch.

You are right about the green jersey, but I don't wear a watch when I cycle...use my Heart Rate monitor.
By the way I lived in SA from 02-09 before we got stationed here in GA last year.

I will look it up but wouldn't mind to spend the money for a perfect job. I'm just very picky and would hate myself for messing it up just to save $75.
This would give my other watches some extra wrist time since I like to wear my GMT most of the time!

The Green is a beautiful watch, but I would own it as a second or third Rolex. It is too limiting for an everyday watch. If the scratches bother you, do what I do by touching up the center links every couple of months (carefully) with a Cape Cod cloth.

I would also keep your IIc, the Green ceramic is NOT an everyday watch IMO... I have one and it DOES stand out! I love it but often wear my IIc or Black Ceramic as they seem to fly under the radar.

The dial of the LV C often looks balck rather than green but the watch still "pops". Take this from a guy that is on his fourth IIc, I have flipped them all but I do believe this one is a keeper...

As for the scratches, I personally dont mind then and would NEVER bruch the bracelet. I like the pcl's as this sets this watch apart from my subs

Just wait until you have worn the watch for another year,the scratches are a non issue.The entire band eventually shines with a soft sheen. PCL's don't get scratched so much as the matt surfaces get their own shine,believe this,I wear the watch daily and it just looks better and better.

The polished links and the unpolished links are basically identical.You really should just wear the watch and not obsess over every little mark.I feel
a matt band will eventually burnish a little and then you won't like that either.

If I may make a suggestion, the IIc is a great watch, but, if you really like the GMT, you could always flip it for a Coke, Pepsi or black (or all three) 16710. They are also great watches, more in line with the tool watch history of Rolex (no PCL's or other shiny bits) and they look terrific. I just did it myself, and I'm very happy with the decision. I think every collection should have at least one GMT in it.

Well, I decided to keep my beautiful GMT and just wait a little longer and then buy a BNIB SubC LV. This way I don’t loose any money with selling my GMT and the money saved I can put towards the LV.
I think I use the GMT option way to much and would really miss it and then regret my decision very quick.
Now I just enjoy the thoughts of working towards the LV what can be very exiting as well!
