What does your collection consist of??
Hi everyone!
I'm new to the forums. I am young and a "new" collector as I have inherited quite a collection in the last few years. My grandfather was quite a collector! He left me a 5508, 5512, 5513, 5514 (my favorite), 5517, yes a milsub, 6239, 6263, and a 1675. I don't have any pics because they are currently in a lockbox at the moment, as I have recently moved. I like to think I have a pretty good knowledge of vintage Rolex time pieces, but would love to learn new things!!! Just curious to hear from some others!!! Thanks!!! - C |

You think my collection is something. Take a look at this...
I came across this picture yesterday. This is as close to porn as a watch collection can get. This is amazing!!!!!! I can't get my jaw off the floor and stop drooling!!! It looks as though there are a couple of 65XXs, a few 5508s, three 5510 and one looks like a 5510 mil sub? with an Explorer dial and 8mm crown(4th watch from the left on the top row) minus the crown guard (WOW!!!), a few 5512s and 5513s, I'm counting two 5514s (Comex), and to top it off a BEAUTIFUL Mil sub! This box has to be worth nearly a million dollars!!! I'd love to be the guy who owns this collection... - C |

To be completely honest I am in no rush to get my watches out of storage. Maybe the 5512 and 13 but not the Paul Newman's, 5508, 5514 or 5517. Call me crazy but I'm new to the watch world and need a breather already... Lol...

You can only wear one at a time. I take pictures when I take mine out of safety deposit box at bank--one at a time. Take a shot as you wear them. You have a screw down 6263 Newman?? That is one rare watch my friend--wow!!

I had a 14060 E, have an incoming 166600 Deep Sea, am on the verge of getting a 16800, have a Lum-Tec M16, and some fitness watches. It is a sickness/obsession that I am happy to be afflicted with. :)

Great group. At TRF, most of us would drool over some or all of them
and all of us wanna see some pics! My own group is fairly wide ranging and cannot compare with your very great vintage group.

Gmt 1675...
Hey guys,
I know you want to see the goods! Well... This is the only one out of storage that has made the move with me. It's the 1675... It dates to about '78. ...With my '58 in the background... - C. |

Pics I could find...
Here are a few "live" pics. I'm not into the whole up close/ in-your-business pics. I didn't join the forum to show off, although it might seem that way. I wanna hear about other ppls collections. Plus, what good is a watch without someone to wear it, right?... The last pic is my IWC Big Pilot and '58 Strat. Thanks guys! -C |

I'm not usually dismissive of claims when somebody posts they have a nice timepiece or two but those photos look more like photos of one/two of the OP's mates.
The 'they are in a safe deposit box' does not wash with me, take your camera with you and take some photos where they are. If they are what you claim then you will have them all photographed for insurance purposes. Nearly every time somebody posts a photo of their own watch it is either on their wrist or some arty set up close up. So with this in mind I call 'custard!' time for the custard test........ |
