Buying Rolex in London
Hi guys, I'd like to purchase a pre-owned Rolex watch with diamonds for my wife (probably a day/datejust. Can you recommend credible stores?
In the meanwhile I found these stores, anyone knows them? http://www.secondtimeround.biz/index.php (saw a negative review on another website) http://www.fitzroviawatches.co.uk/ http://www.chicii.co.uk/bespoke-jewe...d-watches.html http://www.armourwinston.co.uk/ http://www.capitalwatchandjewellery....p/prodList.asp http://www.daviddugganwatches.co.uk/ http://www.watches.co.uk/ Thanks, Michael |

i bpought a submaariner from david duggan, it was a feb 09 one & i got it in sept 09 at a cost of 3500, only 400 off list price - but they were decent people to deal with if that helps and have a good service dept, & have been around for ages

Some say they're overpriced but I don't know. And they certainly seem credible. |

Anything from the Burlington Arcade is gonna cost ya. I found their prices very high even for the none vintage stuff. They are very knowledgeable though.

They're all well known and one assumes have reputations they'd like to maintain. Especially as one could vent ones spleen if one was not happy for some reason on this forum.. You'll not get an uber bargain. Private will be cheaper but then you have the potential for skulduggery.. I'd say go visit, get a feel and decide at your leisure... There's also "Carr's" nr Liverpool St. His prices make Burlington Arcade seem like utter bargains!! |

The selection at Burlington Arcade is vast and beautiful, but the prices are not for the faint of heart!

In addition to David Duggan in Burlington Arcade, there's also Vintage Rolex across from Duggan that has a vast selection of vintage. I strolled by there last week and saw at least a few diamond face Rolexes - not sure which may have been smaller sizes, though. Check out there website: http://www.vintagewatchcompany.com/
Unlikely you will find any bargains there, similar to Duggan. Both shops have been in Burlington Arcade for many years, so you can probably be assured of their quality and reputation.

Seriously, once you have got used to browsing the classifieds here on trf, everything is overpriced. For me I would only go to my regular AD for s discount if I wasn't buying over trf. The guys on there are a credit to this forum and the watch world. Suggestion to mods though: let's have some uk seller specific sections please! Or atleast something that filters out the regular sellers with multiple listings at any given time Thanks |

Try www.watchcentre.com on Bond St, 10mins walk from Burtlington Arcade. I buy a lot from them and have found the prices to be a bit more reasonable than Burlington Arcade but importantly they're not pushy. Can't stand pushy dealers.

Why don't you try some of the UK online dealers.
I have personally dealt with Watches of Distinction http://www.watchesofdistinction.com/ and Dream Watches http://www.dream-watches.co.uk/ I can recomend both.

Have any of you guys dealt with Second Time Around http://www.secondtimeround.biz ? They seem to sell bargains but I couldn't find any feedback about them.

London is one of the most expensive places in the world to buy a Rolex........sorry but it's a no-brainer just buy from a trusted seller here and never look back

No he means the sellers on the forum here. As most are based in USA you need to be aware of import charges and handling fees (20% plus) or understand the ways if any, these sellers operate to get around import rules otherwise you will have a nasty shock as to real price.
