Damaged Datejust repair sugg.
I am seeking recommendations on getting my R1601 Repaired. It was hit in the lower half of the crystal (1987 acrylic) by a large, fast moving, aircraft door handle and was significantly damaged. Lower half of the crystal was shattered, the second hand was broken from the center shaft/pinion (I found it), the minute hand was bent down (sort of flattened) and there is is slight dent/impression in the watch-face just above the 6 o'clock marking. I also fear there may be some damage to the movement, as it was a pretty solid impact. The bezel and case escaped damage; and Yes, several choice words were spoken just after this miss-hap.
I live in the Charlotte area, but can obviously send this watch anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Jeff jpg attached for the curious |

You might want to contact David Throckmorton in Austin, Texas. He is a certified Rolex watchmaker, has been at it for over 30 years, does great work, and will save you some cash.
Or how about forum member Rikki? He is Rolex certified I believe. |

Rikki did a beautiful job restoring my old OP that was almost ruined by incompetents ... Reasonable price too.
Thanks, Rik |
