I am after this set of wheel

Shimano RS80 vs Reynolds Shadow vs Fulcrum 3

they are mod range wheels and similar price ($300-$500)

any thoughts

I've always been a fan of Fulcrum wheels...the 3 are a great - friends have had/have them and swear by them. Great strength and weight. Good all rounder.

I haven't had much experience of the others.

Never had Shimano wheels before (I only have Campag. on all my bikes, makes life easier to have all of one type)....but I have a Ridley Damocles with Reynolds wheelset (tubulars) - fantastic.....and a Colnago C40 with Fulcrum 3's (clinchers) - also fantastic as Dalip says..... pics below

Had to buy a set last year and went w/ Shimano Ultegra 6700's w/ tubeless clinchers. No issues so far.
Not familiar w/ the set you are after though, sorry.

I actually just bought a road bike for a triathlon I had this past Sunday.
Got myself a Cannondale CAAD 10-5 and while I'm not much of a cyclist, I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!

I don't have a picture of my road bike right now but I have a Strong frame that was custom built for me by an old racing buddy of mine. I used to race back in the 90s while in high school, college and a few years afterwards and Carl Strong was one of my teammates. He now builds amazing bikes.

I was a CAT 2 rider before I had to get serious about life and head to grad school. I actually raced against Levi Leipheimer in several races when he was still an amateur and living in Montana. I actually finished second to him in a mountain stage race! Oh an now I feel really old because I was teammates with Tejay Vangarden's dad. Now the kid is one of the top US up and coming Pros. The kid used to go on short rides with us when he was 8 - 9 years old!

I am still using 'Prolink' Stavaros.

I use a Brooks saddle. Not the smallest or lightest, but, damn, it's the most comfortable one I've ever ridden.

Hi BlackMS, I have used Mavic Aksium wheels for the past 18 months and ridden over 3000Km on these.

I find these a great trouble free training wheel, I have had a few rear spokes go recently, other than that they remain true better than any other set of wheels that I have trained on previously. Sorry can't comment on the wheels you are looking at. At just over 90kg I'm a little heavier that most riders I train with.

Tragic news from the Giro.

I have Mavic Openpro's on my old Giant.
They have lasted well but I did crack one at the spoke entry a while back.
