PAM 005 at list price???

Is this watch a good deal at list (today's list of $4,700 before the price increase on Aug. 1) from an AD?

Not seeing much in the secondary market and am having trouble being patient. Have seen one pre-owned M at a bit over 4K that looks mint but am a bit hesitant to jump on it as I've never bought a pre-owned watch. Plus for only a few hundred, I'm leaning towards just getting it BNIB.

This will be my first Panerai.

All thoughts are greatly appreciated...

You can get a reasonable discount off list from AD's. Good luck.

Go for it. The grapevine says this increase might very well be significant on many of the models....

Try to negotiate. I've gotten as much as 15% off at an AD on Panerai. Doesn't hurt to try!

AD's don't really give discount anymore. Some free straps tho :(

Never, never, never pay list price. You should be able to find AD that will give at least 10%. Get it before the 10% (or so) price increase!

I tried at Cd PeaCock, offered a cash deal on the spot! After they made a phone call to the big boys, there response was.
We can offer a gift card valued at 5% of today's purchase for next time and since we have straps laying around ( since they take trade ins) you can have a couple, on us.
Goodluck!

Went to the Boston AD today and they offered to throw in a strap, I told him no thanks. He was nice enough to give me a 2010 Panerai book detailing all the models which I thought was pretty nice. Have a beat on a used one and a call into another AD, will keep you posted.

The best I could do from local ADs was no discount on the watch, but 10% of MSRP for the purchase of OEM straps. Pretty good I thought, but DavidSW did better.

FWIW, local PAM boutique wouldn't match the 10% strap credit (and I had spent a good amount of time there trying on models, making multiple visits, etc.).
