First Foray Into Vintage
Hi Guys.
Was just hoping to get a rough idea of how much i'd be looking to pay for a vintage piece i'm after. I appreciate this can be a tricky question and obviously depends on whether I go through a bricks & mortar shop or through a private dealer but if I could get a rough idea then i'd be very grateful! Looking at a GMT 16750 Pepsi with matte dial. If I were to go for a full spec, box and papers, good condition, minimal stretch to the bracelet, how much would I be looking at paying? Patina-wise, if i could get my hands on something with a bit of character then i'd obviously be willing to pay for it Looking online i'm seeing quite a disparity in prices and this being my first vintage piece I'd like to be prepared for when I do take the plunge! Just to add, i'm in the UK if that makes a difference Thanks for any info |

Prices will vary greatly depending on condition and provenance. I would say that there are many nice examples out there so you will have many options. As always- buy the seller and deal with a trustworthy source.

Thanks for all the info guys!
Clay, I'm definitely following that logic! I'm not going to rush into a purchase if the piece doesn't sing to me! The thing is I know that patience is they key when buying vintage, but patience was never my strong point lol! I'll just have to fight off the impatience! |
