What model of Ladies Datejust fits my needs
I plan on buying my wife a Ladies Datejust or something similar for our 25 anniversary. I want to buy a pre-owned watch as I feel this is the best deal. Here are my questions/conditions.
Did Rolex ever make a Ladies watch with just a gold bezel and the band was SS? What model would likely be the best value? I'm leaning on a TT, Oyster Bracelet, white face, sapphire crystal model, but I'm open to suggestions. Recommended model numbers would be much appreciated. TIA Mike |

Stainless Steel will go with a Stainless Steel Bezel.
If you see a SS with any other color bezel that simply means someone had replaced it with the color of their choice. However, the SS can be set with 18KWG bezels with brilliants like models 178344 or 178384. Below are 31mm DJ with models as follows: 178240 with smooth bezels. 178274 with fluted bezels. 2 Tone SS/Pink Gold models are : 178241 with smooth Pink Gold bezel 178271 with fluted Pink Gold bezel 178341 with Brilliants on Pink Gold bezel 2 Tone SS/YG are : 178243 with smooth YG bezel 178273 with fluted YG bezel 178343 with Brilliants on YG bezel All above can be fitted with Jubilee or Oyster Bracelets. The 2 Tones are best value for the money. New MSRP are high. After one year you can see the price drop by at least a third. Check the FS section here and you will see. |

Just recently bought a new DJ for my wife that comes close to what you are looking for. She loves it and it looks great on her. Model number is 179173.

Hi solocus-
was in the exact same mode as you 2 years ago- wanted an oyster bracelet, 2-tone white dial for the 25th-and ended up with this one-she had an older ss one and told me NOT to get her any more watches, but put the newer on and has never asked even where her old one is. Paid $2.8K used- high I know, but got it at an AD so piece of mind is worth something to me |

I just bought myself new this 24diamond TT model from DavidSW. I had previously wanted a used one for value, but since the 24diamond bezel is a relatively new option overall there wasn't a lot of used out there. Further, every single one I saw at the ADs had an oyster bracelet (more common with the domed bezels and increasing your chances a ton).
Since I wanted the jubilee bracelet, I put my hands in the air and decided to buy it new since I'm going to hold it a while. And I do love it dearly. The face on mine is a mother of pearl, but it looks fabulous as well in white and silver and many other colors. There are usually lots to look at out there at the ADs with the oyster bracelets so you can see lots of face combos. Good luck in your search! ~Suzy |

Sounds like you're deliberating between the 26mm and the 31mm. That's the first dragon you should slay, because they are fairly different in their effect (and readability). If she'd like something dainty, go with the 26mm. If she'd like one with a more modern and more readable impact, go with the 31. I bought 31, and many women today are, vs. the classic 26mm.
Specs wise, if you want the Oyster bracelet, the TT with the domed bezel is mighty handsome. Dial choice depends on her preferences. I have a simple white dial with Romans and love it (although mine is fluted with Jubilee). The MOP ones are gorgeous. |

Hopefully this will narrow it down. Something like this but with an Oyster Bracelet. |
