Paypal Questions

Hey Guys,

I sold my Omega GMT Co-ax and all that is left is my GMT Master II.Like JJ I think I will stick to the one brand and that is Rolex.(Resale etc)

What I wanted to know is,are there any pitfalls using Paypal for payment received (Besides fees). We are both verified users and he has paid the funds from my request already.

My understanding is that once I have received the payment into my Paypal account the funds are secure. The only thing required is for me to transfer the funds to my nominated account.

Is there anyway the funds can be disputed or reversed? Or do I wait untill the funds are clear in my bank account before sending the Omega Stateside.

Any experience in this area would be appreciated. At this stage there are no reasons to expect problems but I would like to avoid them if possible.

Aaron

BTW. Thanks for the kind words.Wade is looking and feeling good although the hospiatl stay is over there are many day trips for the next two years.

Make sure...

you check your paypal account starting with a fresh new window. If you can see the transaction it has a transaction number. Paypal is a secure site. If the funds show in your account it is money in the bank.
If in doubt transfer it out of paypal account to your bank account. Do you have a pp credit card? You can withdraw through that means but it may have a daily limit.
If you are buying a watch from a big seller. You paypal him the money and your watch is then sent. They do not wait for any clearance. That is only for bank drafts or cheques.
I use it as it is quick and safe and sure they charge you fees but these address safety concerns and pp is owned by the auction site.

I have done tons of deals on PP, and like G said, if in doubt move it out of your PP account right away. You seem to feel comfortable with your buyer and that is what is more important.

Firstly, very happy to learn about Wade's good news, Aaron. That is the most important thing in your life right now.

Secondly, sorry to see the Omega GMT go....just hope you didn't incur too much of a loss on it. Anyway, between the 2 GMTs, you definitely opted for the better one.

Good luck and good cheer....all the best to Wade.

JJ

Thanks Guys,

The kind words are welcome and your tips in regard to Paypal are appreciated.

JJ,like yourself there was a loss selling the Omega GMT but that is always going to happen when you buy a new Omega.I opted for the Rolex for many reasons but the main one is anytime I sell I will just about get my money back anytime anywhere.

The other thing I have found over time is that the Rolex doesn't scratch anywhere near as much as the Omega.(This is important to me as I wear my watch everywhere.)
