Warranty Card Question

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the world of Rolex, and I just purchased a ladies no-date oyster perpetual from one of the better known grey market dealers reviewed on this site. I am certain the watch is authentic, but I wanted to run some details by the group to see how you guys (who know a lot more than me) feel about it.

1. The watch was shipped without a Rolex warranty card from Miami.
2. I contacted the grey market dealer, and he had the warranty card shipped out to me 2 weeks later from New York.
3. The warranty card looks legit, all numbers match up, but the dial section is left blank. It is also stamped by an AD in Texas.

Is there any reason to be concerned here? I have looked at the FS section on this forum, and I didn't see any warranty cards that had a blank dial section.

Again, the watch is gorgeous, and it certainly seems to be authentic to my untrained eye...

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

I'd suggest you take it in to a certified Rolex AD and have it authenticated for peace of mind.

Its simple if its a well known even grey market dealer its very very doubtful there is anything wrong with your watch or warranty card. And if the numbers match your watch myself would not worry, its very seldom the warranty is ever needed anyway. And seeing you have bought the watch its a bit late now to get it authenticated. Most ADs will not perform this task unless you pay, but many today would want to send the watch to Rolex as they have no way of getting the back off.If you are near a RSC you could just take it there but IMHO you have nothing to worry about.

Kinda late in the game to check authenticity. I'd bring it to an AD if that would make you feel better.

Thanks for the replies. I can bring it to an AD to check authenticity. I believe there is one local that will check for me. I still need to get the band sized anyway.

I guess the main concern is the warranty card being blank by the dial. Does than concern any of you? I've never seen that before, but I don't have much experience either.

Thanks again.

I must admit, all the warranty cards i've seen have been filled in with the watch details, country code, serial, model number, bracelet (U.S).

I'm sure it's legit. As padi says after 2 years it's defunct anyway. If it's authentic then wear with pride!!!

As always buy the seller and not the watch. At this point how about a call or email to the seller and ask why this is the case? Save yourself a trip and fee for authentication... Let us know and again if this is a reputable seller it will be explained wry easily...

I cannot say that I have ever seen a card with the dial blank... Name and date of course but not the dial...

As for sizing this can be simply done yourself too :)

This is the response I got from the grey market dealer:

"All cards that come from outside the USA come blank from the factory in Geneva
and some from USA dealers arrive blank as well, especially on certain models or
earlier designs and releases."

Again... I believe this guy is legit, and he is well reviewed on this board. I just got concerned when I saw the warranty card.

It is not uncommon at all to have the dial style left blank. I wouldn't worry at all.

Thats quite true Rolex USA is a separate company from the parent company Rolex SA, warranty cards are different like no country code etc.But even some in the USA they don't always have all the information on the cards with some models.

What is the difference between Rolex USA and Rolex SA? Are the watches the same? Is the watch any less valuable because it came from Rolex USA?

Thanks again.

No all Rolex watches come from the same factory in Switzerland Rolex SA, but Rolex USA is a separate company with there own set of rules.

Nothing to worry i guess...

The dial of the Lady DJ can be changed during the purchase from an AD... Basically you choose a watch they have ready at stock, and then you can choose a dial you like... Pink, silver, black, greye, roman numreals, index, diamonds etc...

Therefor it makes perfectly sense that the dial part is blank on the warranty card for lady DJ... because it could be any dial on any watch...
